Scaife Hall Farm

Well thats a wrap!! The flock of Swaledale sheep we started building up in very early 1990s we finally dispersed today. Bittersweet😫. But the trade was amazing and they pretty much all went to local farmers.
Thanks once again to Ted Ogden and the team for looking after us so well throughout all the sales we have had there, thanks to the buyers and underbidders and also grateful thanks to Samantha Hardcastle for helping with transport this morning.
One more pen of Mules to go and then thats it 😀
The new chapter begins....

Lambs!!

As we hurtle into Autumn the sheep sales are in full flow. We have had a busy few weeks preparing all our Shearlings and ewes for sale si ce we decided there will be no more lambing. There's been lots of sorting, dipping and trimming going on. Next week 3 more sales and then we will be about finished. So a photo dump is the next job!!!

Due to a cancellation the cottage has become available for the first part of Great Yorkshire Show week. Unfortunately it would mean a wednesday departure, but you could get 2 days at the show!! The show starts on Tuesday 14th July through to Friday 17th.
My usual terms are for a minimum 3 night stay but if you only wanted monday and tuesday night the system wont let you book 2 nights so message me and Im sure I can accommodate that! 🙂🙂🙂

Yesterday we weren't sure today's job would happen, its been so cold and wet this week, but this morning the sun was out and we were on. Shearing 2026 got underway!!! These sheep can start their regrowth, and having made the decision not to lamb anymore, they will be heading to new postcodes in the summer
