Thursday girls… have been struggling to find somewhere different to have lunch!
As a group of 5 sometimes 6 and a pushchair it’s finding a cafe or restaurant that has room for us!
This week we went to the pickled sprout in Harrogate, The service was good the restaurant nice and warm and the food was nice.

Last Thursday lunch at weetons garden formerly ( crimple hall )
The shop and restaurant feeling very festive, we had a very average lunch, toasted sandwich, the eggs royal very nice lots of smoked salmon, the down side to this place was the noise, not the restaurants fault I know, but such a large place it’s hard to have a conversation, I ended up with headache!!
After looking around the shop we had a coffee and cake in the other little smaller cafe, which was very nice 👍

Two weeks ago…. Another visit to baltzersen’s where the food was good, but service this time not so good sadly, we were made to feel very unwelcome, the young lady serving on the till was rude and I guess stressed, first two of us ordered our food then two more, we all found her rude, then the 5th member of the Thursday girls arrived, and ordered her lunch to hear the assistant moaning about us…. The reason being we was 5 girls around a table for 4 🤷‍♀️ we had loads of room and not in anyone’s way!
But nowhere to move to… we was told by staff customers complain if too many round a table, but all the other customers didn’t have a problem, then the lady on the next table who was leaving offered us her table to add onto ours, which was so kind. So now we taking up a table for 8 with 5 people, but staff were happier, if we hadn’t already ordered we would have left…. unfortunately we won’t be rushing back, with so much choice in Harrogate 😬

Grane coffee and bakery station parade Harrogate.

This week we had lunch at Grane, lots of lovely sandwiches and cakes, I like the peanut butter and banana toast, although the toast was a bit thick and chewy! Coffee is very good and this week though the young man serving wasn’t the most patient or polite, however the young lady made up for it she was very helpful ☕️

This week Thursday girls went to Zizzi’s in Harrogate, although we have been before we found this visit not the best.
We were a large table this week due to school holidays, the cheese fondue was lovely but the bread very heavy, we all had pizzas or pasta and the food was just ok pizzas were bit bland and uninteresting, not much topping.

The restaurant was quiet busy but they seated everyone in one side of the restaurant , so was difficult to squeeze in to a corner for 9 people, when half the restaurant was empty, maybe they didn’t want to have to clean the whole restaurant after lunch 🤷‍♀️

Our final problem was when paying, after about 30 mins of trying the staff weren’t able to split our bill into couples or family’s and they are cashless, so one person had to pay the whole bill and we had to sort it ourselves later…. Awkward!

This week we celebrated one of the Thursday girls birthdays, so we had lunch at Rudding park, as it was a lovely day we sat outside on the terrace, newly refurbished outside area was a perfect place to sit, new comfy tables and chairs, large sun umbrellas.
Only down side were the wasps!!
We had sandwiches, sharing platters and pizzas. The pizzas are cooked outside in the wood fired pizza oven.
Great place for a chilled afternoon 🎂
