Based at the foot of May Hill, we’re located in the heart of Perry country.

We’re proud of this and make single variety Perry from some of the countries best fruit, which originate from this area.

A HUGE thanks to all the Piners that gave up their time to help with the perry harvest over the past couple of weeks, and the companies that generously let their teams use their volunteer leave to help us out. Another thank you to greenfarmseeds for the loan of their truck!

We’ve got 2,500L and 27 varieties of perry bubbling away nicely (the noise in the fermenting room is amazing!). There’s also the Gin Pear, Butt and Rock left to harvest over the coming weeks, so we should hit 3,000L which is just right for us.

We’ve got some staple varieties like Blakeney Red, lots of Oldfield, a few new specials (Incl Berllanderi Red & Green, Teddington Green) and 120L of Hendre Huffcap / Winnals Longdon blend.

Piners.. we couldn’t do it without you.. legends!

Huge thanks to greenfarmseeds for lending us their truck to help with the perry harvest this week. These stunning Blakeney Red trees are over 300 years old and deserve the right tools for the job!

… and the award for favourite perry pear of the harvest so far goes to this cheeky Lumber pear. Never made it, never tasted it. Will find out more in summer 2027!

Day 3 of harvest fortnight and we’re in full-swing. we’ve got some amazing volunteers (piners) helping us and spent a couple of hours picking on May Hill, the epicentre of english perry. This will be a 120L blend of Turners Barn, Green Horse and improved Moorcroft.

Come and find us at the Autumn show at 3 Counties showground this weekend. We’re showing off our best batches of the year, labelled under our National Collection releases.

Jim and his perry display are also here, along with Gloucester Orxhard Trust, who have won Gold and Siver Gilt medals.

Perry … one week it’s perfect for picking and pressing, the next it explodes in the press and does this! The early varieties, such as this Thorn are the worst culprits.

Perry Centre - Last tap of the year!

Open today 12-7. Last tap before the harvest madness begins! Pop down today and see Jim’s annual perry display before it hits the Malvern Autumn show!

We’ve also got some brand new 750ml and 375ml bottle releases and some limited single varieties on tap, including Lullam, Brandy and Hartpury Green!

Jim Chapman, curator of the National Perry Pear Collection will be at the Orchard Centre this Saturday from 12-5.

His display has won Gold at the Malvern Autumn show for 4 years running and will be on-hand to help identify perry varieties for a small donation.

Due to the weather the fruit will be variable this year, but are hoping for a good display nonetheless!

Come down and hava a wander through the orchards, visit the birdhide and enjoy a pint of local perry. Takeaways and bottles available to buy. Our last Taproom of the year!

There should be a name for anxiety triggered by noting other perry makers starting weeks before you. i’ve definitely been suffering from it! Despite the drought, most fruit still has a few weeks to go and is on schedule (esp. the older, established orchards) for the end of the month or early October.

I managed to sn**ch a few hours to make a start this afternoon however with a couple of the early varieties, with help from our youngest Piner, Archie. 3 trees from the collection picked .. Thorn and Betty Prosser, which should make an interesting, 35L limited release in 2027.
