A big well done to the Thai In Town crew for completing the Race for Life today in aid of Cancer Research UK. The event was made even more special as it was also Kiki’s birthday.

Thanks to the generosity of our customers, friends and supporters, we’ve raised over £100 for this important cause. Every donation helps support life-saving cancer research and brings us one step closer to a world where more people survive cancer.

You may have seen in the news recently that celebrity chef Tom Kerridge is campaigning for the Government to support the struggling hospitality industry by reducing VAT to 10%.

For businesses like ours, VAT is one of the biggest challenges we face. Pubs, restaurants and takeaways are required to hand over 20% VAT on every sale, while only a small proportion of our costs can be reclaimed. Combined with rising wages, energy costs and food prices, this leaves many hospitality businesses operating on extremely thin margins.

This isn’t about increasing profits. It’s about protecting jobs, supporting local businesses, and ensuring that independent takeaways like Thai In Town can continue serving our communities.

If you have recently discovered us, we are so pleased to welcome you to our little kitchen at Thai In Town, where we prepare and freshly cook Thai food on-site every day, Monday to Saturday. Our menu might not be large, but we are proud of every dish we offer. Our Beef Massaman has always been our best seller and is a must-try.

We are located at 13 Queens Road in Hastings town centre—right by the traffic lights opposite the Odeon Cinema.

Monday – Saturday: 10:30am to 4:45pm (Full kitchen service)

Late Service: If you’re hungry for curry and rice, we can usually serve those until around 5:15pm.

We are mainly a takeaway, though we do have small seating area available. While our curries and rice are ready to serve quickly, most our other dishes are cooked to order to ensure freshness, including our homemade Spring Rolls.

We look forward to serving you soon.

We’re truly humbled by the incredible support you showed us on Friday — thank you, thank you, and thank you again. It was so lovely to see both familiar faces and so many new ones too. If you’re new here, welcome to our little kitchen.

On Friday 8th May, we sold 69 portions of Crispy Treats at £2 each, raising a total of £138 for Cancer Research UK. Combined with a generous £10 donation, we are pleased to announce that the full amount has already been transferred to this wonderful cause. Please note: we are not deducting any costs or taxes—100% of the proceeds have been donated.

It’s clear that Cancer Research UK is a cause close to many people’s hearts, so we hope to hold another fundraiser later this year.

For now — thank you once again, and let the spring rolls… (see what we did there?) 😉
