This Saturday, due to family commitments and a slight staff shortage, we will be closing 1 hour earlier than usual, at 2:00pm.

This is a one-off for this week only, so please plan accordingly. A notice will also be displayed in our shop window.

This was the biggest BBQ pack we’ve ever had ordered! 😬😬

It was fantastic for us to supply York Knights, our hometown rugby club, with the meat for their family fun day today. It was great to see the players, staff and families enjoying some downtime after what has been a difficult few weeks on the pitch.

All the fans are right behind you, lads. The club has come such a long way, and we’re only at the start of a long journey. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day! Let’s keep getting behind the lads and supporting the Knights on their Super League journey. 🏉🥩

I’d have loved to have come down and cook for you all, but as you can see from the second photo, Janine and Emma had a busy afternoon on the BBQ at the fantastic Wigginton School Fair, which we’re proud to support year after year. 🙌🙌

You did a great job, girls – although Janine is still camera shy! 📷😂

A busy day with lots going on, as always. Thanks to all our customers, thanks to York Knights captain Liam Harris and all the York Knights lads for their custom, and thanks to Wigginton School for inviting us along.

Supporting British farming, supporting your local butcher, and supporting good local people.

This is Ellen and Lucy Wardle, two sisters from a fantastic local farming family in Westow, just 10 miles from our shop. Over the years, we’ve bought plenty of cattle from the Wardle family through Malton Livestock Market, and the last one we bought a few weeks ago was an absolute beauty. 🐄

It was a real pleasure to welcome them into the shop today to buy some of the very meat they have worked so hard to raise and produce. There’s something special about seeing the journey come full circle, from farm to butcher’s counter and back to the farming family themselves.

Supporting each other is exactly what this industry is all about. Farmers, livestock markets, butchers, and customers all play their part, and together we help keep local food production thriving.

Great to see you both today, and thank you very much for your custom. Long may these partnerships with local farming families continue, with our livestock markets right at the heart of it all.
