We produce crops on around 7000 acres each year, covering a large part of Cornwall, from Lands’ End in the west to Wadebridge in the north of Cornwall to Liskeard in the south east. Because we cover such

a wide area, we can take advantage of local variations to do with rainfall, soil and climate, enabling us to operate year round. This means we can offer fabulous levels of service to our customers and great employment prospects to our staff.

Southern England Farms has officially started the 2026 courgette season, yesterday we harvested our first saleable fruit. As one of the UK’s largest courgette growers, we’re proud to once again be leading the season and among the very first in the country to begin harvesting. British-grown, professionally produced, and the start of another exciting season ahead. 🇬🇧🥒

Harvesting has commenced on Bank holiday Monday of our new season broccoli 🥦,a sure sign that summer is on its way. Fresh from Cornwall, this fantastic home-grown crop will soon be making its journey from farm to shelves, bringing the very best of British produce to tables across the country. 🇬🇧

It’s great to see such a strong early start to the UK’s courgette season, especially given we are still only in April. Despite the recent high winds, Southern England Farms in Cornwall already has flowers successfully setting fruit, which is a positive sign for the months ahead. Being among the first in the country to reach this stage highlights both the resilience of the crop and the quality of the growing, and the commitment of our dedicated teams🇬🇧

Planted at the end of autumn, this pointed cabbage crop here in Cornwall has established well and come through the winter in excellent condition. The crop is looking impressively even across the field, with strong consistency throughout, and is on track for harvest by the end of May. 🥬

Most people think cauliflower is a winter vegetable — but it’s not ! Grown here in Cornwall all year round, it’s a crop we can depend on. Seasonal food isn’t a trend; it’s how we build a reliable British food system. Buying British is a small step which makes a huge difference, lowering environmental impacts, and supporting local farmers and jobs — strengthening our food supply from field to plate. 💚

It’s been a busy couple of weeks! 🌿
We’ve been flat out planting, including laying black plastic in preparation for the start of courgette planting. At the same time, we’ve been busy harvesting other crops as they come ready. 🥬
We’ve also enjoyed taking part in the Farm & Country Days , helping educate children on where their food comes from .As well as letting them plant their very own broccoli to take back to school to hopefully grow. 🤞🥦
