What’s better than pigs with muddy noses?! 🐽

Our pigs have recently moved outside to their new pig kingdom, and they love it - snuffling around, wallowing in mud and charging about!

We are rearing two sows to be kept for breeding our own piglets, then the others are for private meat sales and a hog roast for a very special wedding coming up at the end of the summer ☀️

Pen of three butchers lambs entered into the South of England Agricultural Society Show last weekend 🐑

Picked out from our early January lambing group, our pen came 3rd in the light class and A + H Edmonds & Sons pen came 2nd in the heavy class 🎉

It was a pleasure to welcome the Ashford & District YFC juniors to Moatenden Farm last night, for a farm walk and talk 🚜

The weather was kind enough to hold off the rain, and Will & George talked about the partnership - current practices and growth plans, looked at the machinery, sheep, pigs and crops as well as mention of the cattle.

With young farmers being such a massive part of why we are here and our lives growing up, it’s always lovely to support the clubs where we can!

The yearling beef heifers, and the bucket fed calves, have certainly loved stretching their legs today! ☀️

Turnout day for these lucky calves, nothing better than seeing them skip and hop outside after a long winter inside the shed 🐮

Now for some grass munching 🌱

The first cow of 2026 kicked off the calving for the year today, a lovely, confident heifer calf! 🎉

Bimini (who didn’t want her photo taken today) went to the Kent Young Farmers Show at the Kent County Show in 2022 and won the Champion Beef Confirmation animal with most potential 🏆

Ever since then she has been a part of the beef herd, always producing strong calves, and keeping up her friendly reputation 🤎

Some very welcomed sunshine by the turned out ewes and lambs today! ☀️

The second photo is of Jenny, one of our favourite Texels! She was unfortunately an orphaned lamb when she was younger, so lived the first few months of her life with our neighbour who bottle fed and looked after her. This does mean now she is still very friendly, loves a photo and is always up for a scratch 🐑
