A field change, fly cover and tooth and udder check for our early lambers 🐑☀️

Currently this group are relaxing and making the most of not having to do too much!

Homewood School & Sixth Form Centre Young Farmers have been looking after some of our calves - they’ve had a Limousin X steer, South Devon heifer and two Jersey heifers at the school farm 🐂

The young farmers have been working hard this year to train and prepare the calves ready for the Kent County Show.

It was great to see them at the show in the Kent Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs area - well done to all the members who showcased them over the weekend 🎉

Young farmers has played a huge part within our lives, George, Amy & Conor all attended their school young farmers club from the age of 10, Homewood being where Amy was a member.

Then joined by Will, the three of them moved onto Ashford & District YFC, all playing vital parts within the club, including chairman, secretary and treasurer, as well as founding the junior part of the club.

Will & Amy also held roles within Kent YFC as chairman and Kent Show chairman for a number of years. Young farmers is the reason the four of us met, and we have gained valuable life skills, networking groups and lifelong friends along the way.

This is just a small way of giving back and allowing other young people to gain knowledge of the agricultural industry, as well as the same chance to have the 20 years of fun and experience we have had over the years as young farmers!

The Kent YFC Show at the Kent County Show is always a reminder of what an incredible community the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs is, with visitors from future members of a few months old, to previous members of 70 years plus!
