Welcome to the Bank Holiday. The weather looks nice but not nice enough to paddle in poo at the seaside so why not come to sunny Hedgerley?
The good news is the White Horse Beer Festival started last night and runs until Monday but the great news is it's just one more sleep until the Hedgerley Food Fair.
More than a dozen local businesses, bakers and makers will be at The Memorial Hall on Kiln Lane - The Black Cat Cafe making teas and coffees, the old Nazma with samosas, bhajis and kebabs, Portman Farm with their lamb, beef boxes and pies, Wabisabi Japanese Kitchen, Sam's Jams, Fudgelicious, Nicola the Pickler, The Marlow Cheese Co, Candyhouse Sweets, cakes and brownies from Jade and Danni, Cathy's chimichurri sauce and loads of gins, vodkas and ciders from the Boutique Drinks Company.
Doors open at 10.00 and close at 4.00. Entry is completely free, as is parking, both at the hall and in the White Horse field. Just bring bags and cash.
See you there.

One week and counting.
It's just seven days until the Hedgerley Food Fair in the Memorial Hall on Kiln Lane. I don't live in the same house as all the stallholders but I know Nicola the Pickler has been a busy beaver making chutneys, pickles, relishes and rubs for next weekend.
No doubt the other stallholders will be doing the same; cupcakes, brownies and cake lollipops will be getting mixed - jams and sauces will be bottled - the fudge will be stirred - samosas and bhajis being prepared - and the sushi and sashimi delicately measured.
Next week they'll be joined by the cheese being bought out to ripen, the coffeee being ground, the sweets bagged up, and the Pimms and Aperol cocktails getting shaken not stirred.
And on the booze table the last ten bottles of the legendary Carolicious caramel vodka in the world will be available for the early birds to snap up together with a variety of gins and ciders.
Doors will open at 10.00 and will stay that way until 4.00.
The weather will be lovely so bring the kids, plenty of bags and loads of cash for the food event of the year.
See you there.

There's just two weeks to go before the Hedgerley Food Fair on Sunday 28th at the Memorial Hall.
The weather looks like it will be lovely; warm and dry but not crazy hot, so pop along a grab a cupcake or a brownie to have with an iced coffee or a cocktail, while you wander around the stalls filling your bags with jams and pickles, honey, cakes, cider, gins, Japanese bento boxes, cakes, samosas, fudge, cheese, BBQ rubs, cakes and chimichurri sauce - all made locally by people from the area.
This year we are also joined by Candy House Sweetshop and The Black Cat Coffee Club from Farnham Common and Hedgerley's own Portman Estate who will be offering pies, beef and lamb reared in the fields around the village.
There's will be loads of lovely stuff you'll want to take home so bring bags and cash.
Doors open at 10.00 and parking and entry are completely free.
See you there.

Two months to go, just about, to the next Hedgerley Food Fair
when Sunday August 28th will see the Memorial Hall host this year's fair.
Lots of local makers and bakers will be back with their jams, pickles, coffees, cakes, cheese, samosas, booze and Japanese cuisine but this year they have been joined by home made fudge, chimichurri sauces and meat pies.
Doors open at 10.00 and entry and parking are free so come on down on the day with cash in you hand and a handful of bags and head off home with a bagful of treats.
There is also still a space or two available either inside or out so if you'd like to host a table on the day drop a line below, email [email protected] or call on 07713324385.
See you there.

So that's Black Friday done for another year. Hopefully you've all grabbed a bargain or two and kept Mr Bezos off the breadline for a little bit longer.
But do you know what you can't get on Black Friday? Hand made Christmas cards, for one. Decorative ironwork made by a local blacksmith artist for another. Individually made cupcakes, hand made chilli sauces, chutneys, jams and pickles, fudge, samosas, sustainable coffee, hand made decorations, knitwear, skincare, art, jewellery, clothing, more art, and boutique booze complete the list.
All of these splendours will be at Farnham Common Sports Club's annual Xmas Fayre tomorrow, that's Sunday, with the doors opening at midday.
Why not take your Black Friday savings and buy yourself or you friends and relatives a unique and individual gift from the person that made it?
Entry and parking are free.
Bring cash and a carrier bag or two.
Merry Christmas.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 28th - 12.00PM

There's just one week to go before Farnham Common Sports Club holds its annual Xmas Fayre.
Firmly established as the start of the Christmas season the Fayre will have 19 stallholders who all live locally and create their own individual products.
If you need a unique and unusual lovingly hand made Christmas gift, or something a bit quirky for an in-law you are still not sure about, the club will have everything you could possibly need by way of food, drink, clothes, coffee, cakes, jewellery, handbags, accessories, cosmetics, decorations, cards, art, and even blacksmithery.
Doors open at midday, as does the bar, entry and parking are both free.
Bring cash and come on down.
