Little update on our lovely old Floss dog. She has now been retired for a WHOLE YEAR! She sadly lost her hearing so could no longer hear whistles and commands, and although she's a wise and clever lady who would usually guess the right thing to do, every so often, all the sheep ended up in the wrong place as she couldn't hear where we were telling her to move the sheep. She's now living the life of luxury down in the village with some friends of ours. She rules the sofa (and the arm chair and the bed) and is an utterly pampered pooch. She still comes to visit once a month, and although her eye sight is starting to go a little now, she still knows how to boss a stubborn bottle fed lamb as demo'd here on one of her recent visits! What an absolute treasure she is. A 10 year career of being a legend and still sharp as a tack as a retired pensioner 👌

Cronkshaw Fold Farm is located in the beautiful Alden Valley, Helmshore, Rossendale about 45 minutes North of Manchester. It is a traditional West Pennine working hill farm predominantly farming sheep, poultry and training sheepdogs on the edge of the Stunning Holcombe Moor.

Since 1991 the farm has been a multi award winning centre for educational visits for students of all ages and abilities teaching about food, farming and the countryside. Cronkshaw Fold also has accommodation for those looking to escape for a rural retreat. As of 2018 we are now hosting weddings and other events at the farm. Want to know more?
