🪴✨✨We have some amazing news to share today, our riverside garden planning application has officially been approved!✨✨🪴

We’re now busy putting the finishing touches together, getting everything ready with tables, chairs and those all important last minute little details.

As always, we’ll keep you updated and let you know the official opening date as soon as everything is ready, but it should be open by the backend of the week (latest by next Wednesday) as we want to have everything perfect before we do.🤞🙏🔥

From the very beginning we wanted to create a peaceful outdoor space with no music somewhere you can truly switch off, relax and enjoy the sounds of nature and the river flowing by, so whether you’re joining us for a morning coffee, food with friends, aperitivo in the sunshine or evening cocktails we can’t wait to welcome you outside. 🌅

Thank you all for your continued support it means the world to us, and a massive thanks to North York Moors National Park and all the authorities concerned for letting us go ahead it it, we are forever grateful. 🙏❤️ 🌅

We’re absolutely over the moon to share that we have won the Muddy Stilettos Award for Best Bar in Yorkshire for the second year running! 🏆✨

To receive this recognition just five months after opening U Tagghiu Anticu makes it even more special.

There have been endless long days, late nights and countless hours of hard work behind the scene but moments like this remind us both why we do what we do.

We feel incredibly humbled and grateful for the support we’ve received from our wonderful customers, friends, family and community. Every visit, vote, recommendation and kind word has helped make this possible.

Thank you for believing in us and supporting our journey. This award belongs to every single one of you as much as it does to us.

We are looking for positive and passionate hospitality staff for floor and cafe service, customer care and occasional bar work in our fully newly opened fully reclaimed Victorian caffe bar, in the beautiful market town Helmsley, North Yorkshire 🇮🇹🙏🌟 we are looking for staff members willing to get stuck in to all roles.

Must be available to work weekends (Thursday to Sunday) and evening availability is essential, our shifts conclude by around 9.30pm without the burden of late night finishes and no early starts. Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment 🙏

Competitive rates of pay + bonuses.
Shift meals provided (for 6h+ shifts).
Full training program in place.
Permanent and summer roles available.
Full paid training courses for the right applicants.
Under 18s welcome for floor and cafe service.

Our food menu is available all day until late and is inspired by the simple, authentic flavours of italy, from our freshly prepared Bruschettini topped with creamy burrata, truffle, spicy Calabrian ’nduja, Italian salami, fresh basil and ripe tomatoes to our beautiful salads including the classic Caprese perfect for summer 🌅

For those who love a taste of everything, our platters and boards are packed with a selection of Italian cheese, cured meats, antipasti, pâtés, crostini, olives, seasonal fruits, honey, preserves and jams carefully chosen to create the perfect balance of flavours. All available for one or larger sizes to share.

You can also pair your food with the perfect Italian wine, a refreshing spritz, one of our signature cocktails, a chilled glass of Prosecco or simply sit back and enjoy it with a beautiful coffee. ☕️

After hours spent trying to resolve the matter without success we have made the difficult decision to close early for the day.

Many of you will know our lovely Rhianna who recently lost her grandfather John Lewzey.
Our hearts go out to the whole family Natasha, Rhianna, Eromi and all of John’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.🙏💖🙏

To honour his memory Rhianna has set up a donation box here at the bar to raise funds for Stroke Association, that does vital work helping survivors and their families rebuild their lives. From funding ground breaking research to providing essential support services and lead campaigns like F.A.S.T. to save lives, they are a lifeline for many.

So If you are visiting us and have any spare change, any contribution to help support stroke awareness and recovery would be a wonderful gesture.

Stepping into U Tagghiu Anticu is like stepping back in time. Our fully reclaimed Victorian caffe bar once served the community as a beautiful local butchers for over 100 years and that same respect for tradition defines every detail today.

The dedication to quality begins with our coffee. Caffè Vergnano is Italy’s oldest family owned roastery, based in the hills of Chieri, Turin. They still practice Torrefazione Lenta a slow roasting method where the beans are roasted for up to 22 minutes for a deep, smooth finish. This same authenticity is found in their Italian hot chocolate, served traditionally dense and velvet thick. ☕️🔥🍫

Our food menu is celebration of authentic Italian ingredients, featuring Italian salads, brushettioni a variety of small and sharing plates, meat and cheese boards with vegetarian and vegan options available 🇮🇹✨🌟

We also have a beautiful curated selection of Italian fine wines, award winning cocktails and refreshing Spritz, and if beers you’re thing a perfect pint of Guinness, VELTINS & local hand pulled ales from The Wold Top Brewery or a choice from the refined range of alcohol free beers, spirits, mocktails and soft drinks.

A last minute birthday request has turned into a beautiful plan for tomorrow night. We’ve invited Paul Garbutt to join us from 7pm and he’ll be performing a selection of relaxed, lovely songs to set the perfect Saturday vibe.
