Part-Time Farm Worker Wanted – Permanent Role

We’re looking for a reliable, practical person to join our team at Tresowes Farm, Ashton.

This is a permanent part-time role.

The hours would ideally be:
Tuesday to Thursday, 8am–5pm
Plus every other Saturday

We can be flexible for the right person, including split shifts if that suited better.

The job will include:
• Scraping up
• Cleaning cubicles
• Bedding up
• Feeding and looking after calves
• Working with livestock
• General farm work and yard duties

This is a hands-on role, so we’re looking for someone who is reliable, sensible around livestock, happy to work outdoors, and able to work as part of a small team. Applicants must be comfortable working around cattle.

Applicants must:
• Already have the legal right to work in the UK
• Be able to get to and from work reliably, as no accommodation is provided
• Have some driving experience
• Ideally hold a driving licence and/or tractor licence

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
• Telehandler qualification
• PA1/PA6 spraying certificates
• Previous farm or livestock experience

Experience on a dairy farm would be useful, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important. Training can be provided for the right person.

Pay dependent on experience. The role is available now, but we’re happy to wait for the right person.

We believe to get the best cows starts with happy and thriving calves.

Our young calves have loads of space in a clean environment allowing them to stay healthy and express their natural behaviours.

They have access to an automatic feeder allowing them to drink when they’re hungry not at set times of the day. This provides us with great data to view how much each calf has drunk on an individual basis and pick out anyone who’s feeling a little under the weather far quicker.

They work around the clock clearing the cow passages ensuring our girls have as much chance as possible to relax and helping to automate more aspects of our farm.

Looking for a Saturday job?

We’re looking for someone to assist with a range of livestock and machinery work on Saturdays. Perfect for anyone looking for something part time or to gain experience.

Your job would consist of:
- Feeding and bedding up youngstock
- Yard scraping
- General livestock and other farm duties

Requirements:
- A desire for attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Prior driving experience preferred, but not essential.

- Training can be given to the right candidate

We would be looking for someone from 8am to 5pm, but this can be altered to suit the right person.

Pay negotiable at interview depending on experience.
