🎄 Calling All Local Businesses! 🎁

Hemsworth Food Bank know it is early but we are already preparing for our Christmas Toy and Gift Appeal, and we would love local businesses to get involved.

Your support could help us bring some Christmas joy to local children, teenagers and families who may otherwise go without.

There are many ways you can help:

🎁 Become a collection point for new, unwrapped toys and gifts
🎁 Hold a collection among your staff and customers
🎁 Sponsor a child, teenager or family
🎁 Donate gift vouchers, festive treats or stocking fillers
🎁 Provide wrapping paper, gift bags, tape or batteries
🎁 Organise a fundraiser, raffle or Christmas jumper day
🎁 Offer transport or volunteers
🎁 Share and promote our appeal on social media

Gifts for teenagers are often needed most. Toiletry sets, headphones, books, sports items and gift vouchers are all great choices.

Whether your contribution is big or small, it will make a genuine difference to someone in our community this Christmas.

Last week, Hemsworth Food Bank received another fantastic donation of items from Aldi’s middle aisle.

Although Hemsworth Food Bank collect the donation, the items will benefit many people and organisations across our local community:

• School uniforms and children’s trainers have been passed on to Hemsworth Uniform Recycle.
• Household essentials plates etc will be added to support parcels for people setting up a new home or fleeing domestic violence.
• Toys will be saved for our Christmas parcels.
• Bedding and clothing will be shared with the Bag Fairies.
• Other useful items will be saved and passed on to local community groups to use for their activities

A big thank you to Aldi South Elmsall.
Last week, Hemsworth Food Bank received another fantastic donation of items from Aldi’s middle aisle.

Hemsworth Food Bank have recently received more collection slots through Neighbourly and FareShare for food that would otherwise go to landfill. This means we’re now able to share out even more items and help prevent more good food from going to waste.

This week, we collected lots and lots of strawberries, along with other fruit, vegetables and bread, from South Elmsall Aldi and Hemsworth Tesco.

These items were shared out and gratefully received by many people through local community groups, including:

• Hemsworth School Holiday Club
• Hemsworth Ladies’ Knit & Natter Group
• Ivy Care
• Ashfield House residents
• Everyone who visited us on Friday to collect items through our food waste and recycling section

A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us reduce food waste and support our local community!

We would really love you to visit us tomorrow morning!

We have lots of household essentials available, including:

Kettles, pans, cups, plates, cutlery, bedding, tins and toys and much more.

Plus plenty of fresh food:

🍓 Strawberries galore
🫑 Peppers
🍎 Apples
🍊 Oranges
🍐 Pears
🍞 Bread
🥔 Potatoes

These are just some of the items available. Please come along, take what you need and help save perfectly good food and household items from going to landfill!

Thank you for the food donations we received last week from local residents Lynn and Amy and for your support.

Thank you for the very generous financial donation that was passed on to us through Ollie at the Fellowship Church. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated.

A big thank you to Premier Quality Foods for another fantastic donation of pies and pastries for our food parcels.

Finally, thank you to Co-op Ackworth and everyone who kindly left donations in our in-store collection box.

Every donation makes a real difference to local individuals and families who need our support.

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS CLOTHING DONATIONS NEEDED ✨🎄

Hemsworth Food Bank is preparing for our Christmas Fair, and we would be very grateful for donations of:

⭐ Glitz and glamour clothing
✨ Sparkly party wear
🎅 Christmas jumpers
👗 Smart dresses, tops, jackets and other festive clothing

If you have anything suitable tucked away in your wardrobe that you no longer wear, please consider donating it to us. We’re looking for items for adults and children, but please make sure everything is clean and in good, wearable condition.

All donated items will be sold at our Christmas Fair to help raise funds and support our community.

Every donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support! ❤️🎄

Join us this Today at Hemsworth Community Centre from 11am–2pm for a fun-filled games session! 🎲🧩

We’ll have lots of indoor activities for all ages, including:

🧩 Jigsaws
🧱 Lego
🎨 Crafts
🎲 Lots of games

Call in for a cuppa, stay for a free lunch, have some fun and, if you can, drop a coin or two into our collection tin to raise funds for guide dogs for the blind.☕❤️

🎟️ We’ll also have a raffle for a fantastic large toy hamper!

🐾 All money raised on the day will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Come along, enjoy yourselves and help us raise as much as we can for a brilliant cause. Everyone welcome! 💛🐕‍🦺.

Hope you can join us tomorrow, Tuesday 18th August, at the Community Allotment from 11am–2pm! 🌻🎉

We’ve got loads of games and fun for the children, including:

🎯 Giant Darts
👵 Granny’s Big Pants Game
🎲 Twister and lots more games and activities!

🥪 We’ll also provide a packed lunch for everyone who is booked on.

☀️ The weather is supposed to stay clear, but don’t worry if it does rain — we’ll simply head indoors, get the crafts out and carry on having fun! There’s always something to do at the Community Allotment, whatever the weather.

❤️ Everyone is welcome, but booking is required.
