Today we welcomed students from and took them on a tour of our farm (Foundation Horticulture & Animal Care course).

Our grower Ludo showed them around our polytunnels, propagation areas, field scale growing areas and tractor and equipment shed. Explaining thoughout how and why we grow sustainably and organically with nature. We hope we inspired the students to think about sustainable and organic principles in their future farming careers 🤞💚🌱🌻

Our annual Awards Day is nearly here - one of the biggest and best days in the Belmont Wanderers calendar! 💙⚽

Awards Day is a brilliant community event for the whole club, where we’ll celebrate over 30 football teams and recognise the hard work, commitment and achievements of our players, coaches and volunteers across the season.

There will be award presentations throughout the day, a full club photo, our winners parade, team fundraising stalls, food, drink, activities and plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Bring your chairs, picnic blankets, family and friends - come up, enjoy the day, relax, and be part of a proper Belmont community celebration. We’re also hoping for warm weather… he says, praying to the weather gods! ☀️🙏

Peak time is usually between 10am and 2pm, which is when the site will be at its busiest. Walk where possible and £1 for car parking.

⏰ Timings on the day

7am – Gates open for stalls and setup
9am – Gates open to the public
10am – Full club photo - we want everyone involved!
10.10am – Winners Parade, where our champions can showcase their trophies
10.15am – Awards begin, running throughout the day with breaks in between
2.30pm – The famous Reds vs Blues match - always a crazy game! Can the Blues come back? 🔴🔵
5pm – Finish

A very special thank you to all our truly awesome volunteers for Many who have been coming each and every week since we began at Southside Farm in Oct 2023, and many who have joined us along the journey. Just look what we have achieved!

And thank you to the volunteer team who have helped us at our Kindle Centre Lunch Club, all our Big Eats and Community Lunches - you’re all superstars! 👩‍🍳⭐️

And of course not forgetting our youth volunteers who help us on our holiday workshops 🥰

Our next Community Open Day is next Saturday!

Visit Southside Farm and see where our veg is grown, meet the team, hear about our latest projects and help out with some volunteer tasks (optional). We’ll also be making a simple lunch together with produce from the farm.

We’ve loved our half term holiday workshops the last two days at the farm 😎🥰

On Wednesday’s family Let’s Explore day we had fun with soil, looking for bugs & beasties🐛, loads of arts & crafts, making seed bombs & play dough creatures, cooking lunch together and so much more 🎨🌱

Yesterday our age 8+ visitors had a special creative day. Writing beautiful poetry and stories with our professional writer Fiona and creating gorgeous clay birds, animals & bugs with Di ✍️👩‍🎨

On both days we had a Wrap-Tastic lunch designing and building a really tasty & healthy wrap, plus fruit & nut yogurt pot puds 🌮🥕🍓

South Wye Safer Neighbourhood Team will be holding a **Coffee with a Cop** on **Friday 5th June **, at **Hinton Community Centre**, from 13;30pm 15:30pm in the cafe.

We’ll be joined by Boxers_Bakes, who will be baking delicious cakes to give away **FREE** to everyone who attends! 🧁

As part of the Our Place project with Rural Media last summer we made a cobb pizza oven! Well one dragon and two pizza ovens. We've made a short film about the collaborative project which involved our staff, volunteers and holiday workshop children....and Jon from Eastnor Pottery

Last week we fired up the ovens for their first time of the year with Brookfield school which was really exciting. There's a little work to be done to patch up a few cracks, complete the base with the gorgeous clay tiles and fit some new teeth on our Southside dragon. After that we're hoping to put the ovens to lots of tasty use 🍕🍕🍕
