During the conveyancing process, Lenders often want proof of potability if the property has a private water supply.
Our standard drinking water samples test for bacterial elements within your water, with results then compared to the drinking water guidelines, outlining recommended remedial action to take if the water is not within drinking water parameters.

Samples are £140+VAT and are sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory on the same day. Results can be expected within 7 working days.

EMS have some last minute availability to collect samples on Friday 17th May, so please do get in touch if you need urgent water testing of your supply.

BEFORE vs AFTER - Cold Water Storage Tank Cleaning

Tank inspections play a crucial role in preventing the proliferation of Legionella bacteria within water systems, so following an inspection for a new customer, we noticed that this Cold Water Storage Tank was in need of a clean!

Our team attended site to complete the job, making note of the step by step procedure and chemical used, whilst taking some before and after phots for the paperwork. Tank clean and disinfection certificate was then sent to the customer later in the day, for them to file in their Water Hygiene logbook.

EMS water undertook a potable water sample on behalf of our client who was a private landlord with a rental property just outside Leominster in Herefordshire.

🌍 EMS surveyors visited site to undertake the sampling and sampled the private water supply to the house from two separate locations. EMS administered the laboratory results within seven days which advised they were outside of the safe parameters for drinking water and
🌍 Our water hygiene consultant provided ongoing advice and support for remediation of the water including a filtration system to be installed to reduce bacteria counts in the water.
🌍 EMS have provided ongoing maintenance support and advice to our client and following the results demonstrating the water is now able to be classified as drinking water, agreed an annual sampling monitoring plan with our client to ensure that annual tests are undertaken to ensure the continuing effectiveness of the system and water safety

🌏 What is a Full suite sample?

EMS offer an extensive potable water sample, known as a Full suite, which looks at a wider range of elements within the water, compared to that of a standard water quality/potability test.

🌏What analysis is involved?

The sample analysis covers a total of 36 different elements, including heavy metals (full list below)

🌏Who needs this kind of sample?

Our Full suite sample is most popular for customers who have recently moved to a private water supply, either whereby a borehole/well has been newly commissioned or is being brought back into use, or if they are intending on supplying the water to another development other than their own. The full suite sample is also of interest to customers wanting an extensive analysis of the water quality, either for peace of mind or just out of interest.

🌏How long does it take for the sample results to come back?

As the full suite sample includes bacterial and chemical analysis, typically the results come back within 14 working days.
