Rather appropriately, the remaining two pregnant nannies, Violet and Poppy gave birth on Mothering Sunday. Violet had two girls and Poppy a boy.

Baby goats is our welcome to spring. With Nutmeg delivering a boy and girl this morning.
She's pretty quick to go into labour but luckily I spotted an early contraction at 9am and knew to hang around. By 10.20, two stonking kids were scrambling to their feet, looking for the milk bar!

Just received this beautiful photo of my goats from one of their new neighbours, Michelle. It reminded me to post an update about my herd. After some rearranging, I'm down to a core four girls to keep breeding from. And they are now living just a couple of miles away from the orchard. We would have loved to resubmit our planning for the goats pallet palace, but the cost of supplying nutrient reports for a fixed livestock shelter is too prohibitive. However there is a solution. We have been recommended to use mobile field shelters for them, which we are keen to get building in the new year. And yes, pallets will feature heavily in the design. And wheels 😁
