A good first day with Harry taking Champion and Reserve with the Dorsets and Arch’s team holding their own in Bleu’s! The week was topped off with the Bleu Group taking Interbreed Group Of Three like they did at Devon.

A big thanks to everyone that made this week possible in the midst of illness, running a show and getting the sheep in the ring. It certainly was a hectic one.

‼️A first outing for the sheep team was an unforgettable one down in the depths of Devon.‼️

We took 3 breeds and brought home 3 breed championships, an Interbreed Group Of Three and Interbreed Pairs!

A few days that certainly won’t be forgotten anytime soon amongst some strong breed classes and to bring home Interbreed Group and Pairs just topped the week of with the Bleu Ewe just a whisker away from doing the hatrick!

A big well done to the Newth’s on their interbreed title!

A good start to Devon County Show with Day 1 proving a successful one with 3 breed championship titles in the Texels, Dorset Downs and Bleu Du Maine’s!

Now onto the main event tomorrow! 🐑🍺💪

🚜Somerset YFC County Rally 2026🚜

Last Saturday was the turn of the annual Somerset Young Farmers rally in Cheddar where we took 4 calves with Arch, Harry and Abe all well in the prizes for team Polden Hills and Wedmore respectively.

The team brought home 1st Continental Steer, 2nd Older Continental Heifer, 1st and 2nd Young Continental Heifer with the Steer then going onto to take Reserve Overall Champion.

Another busy day with organising, commentating and showing but it was all worthwhile in the end with a cracking show of sheep and cattle with all moments brilliantly captured by Sophie Edmunds Photography. Also a big thanks to Daniel Cox for your help.

Now onto Devon County with the sheep team! 🐑

🟤North Somerset Show 2026🟤

A good day at North Somerset Show last Monday with a 3rd and 4th out of 8 in the Butchers Heifer Class. As well as a 6th out of 16 in the Baby Butchers Calf Class. A successful day all round considering the size of the classes.

Onto the Somerset YFC Rally with 4 calves this Saturday. 🐄🐮

🎉2026 Show Season Starts With A Bang!🎉

A first show of 2026 for the team yesterday at Wedmore YFC 92nd Show and Sale and it certainly was a successful one for Harry and Abe!

Harry brought home Supreme Beef and Overall Show Champion with Abe taking the Baby Beef Championship. Arch was also on duty judging the Sheep Section.

All in all a successful day!

It really has been an unforgettable year on the showing and sales front for team Bowbridge with 2025 definitely exceeding our expectations. Below are all the successes throughout this year as we would like to think it was an alright one-

Wedmore YFC Show and Sale- Champion Baby Beef, Champion Beef, Overall Cattle Champion, Best Turned Out Sheep and Pigs.

Somerset YFC County Rally- Reserve Overall Calf Champion plus 3 1st prizes.

North Somerset Show- Harry 1st Young Handlers, Reserve Butchers Beef and Champion Baby Beef.

Devon County Show- Dorset Down Reserve Breed Champion.

Royal Bath and West Show- Breed Champion and multiple 1st prizes with both Bleu Du Maines and Dorset Downs, Reserve Interbreed Continental Group Of Three, Champion Homebred Limousin.

Royal Three Counties- Breed Champion Bleu Du Maines and Dorset Down, Interbreed Any Other Pure Breed Group Of Three.

Mid Devon Show- 3 x 1sts and Rare Breed Champion, Reserve Interbreed Pairs.

Honiton Show- Champion Any Other Continental and Dorset Down, Interbreed Sheep Champion.

Bleu Du Maine National Show and Sale, Carlisle- Overall Champion and Shearling Gimmer topping the sale at 2,500gns.

Agrifest South West- 1st and 2nd Continental Steer.

English Winter Fair- Hannah Reasons Heifer bringing home Pedigree Champion and Overall Supreme Champion going on to sell for £6000.

Other notable success at New Forest Show, Gillingham and Shaftesbury and Melplash.

We have also launched the new Bowbridge Texel Flock with recent purchases from the Clanfield and Sportmans flocks.

A big thank you to everyone who made these moments happen this year with too many to name.

It’s hard to think this was only just over a week ago. A memory to last a lifetime! Fantastic photographs once again from Country Girl Media who have captured some brilliant photos of the team this year.

Also a good few days up at The Welsh Winter Fair with a 3rd in a strong Limousin Steer class as well as Harry gaining 3rd in the young handlers.

Just one more show to go at Frome Fatstock tomorrow which will end a thoroughly enjoyable and we believe a successfull 2025 show season!
