Not all of my plans work out!!

With Bryony having bred my best ewe to date, Beatrice. I had bought back a ram into the flock to try and achieve the same again!! How naive i was!!

Turns out nature had other plans. Bryony didn't hold to the ram and so I decided to use Elmley Colin the caterpillar and yesterday this little chap was born.
He has a real nice look about him and cant wait to see him grow and see if he will be as good as his sister for the flock.

One of the ewe lambs catching my eye already. Out of an Edingale ewe sired by Hope Scar.

And were off. Lambing 2026 is a go.

Have a feeling ita going to be a long season. 🫣

Nice set of triplets sired by Hope Scar. Would of liked at least 1 on them a girl though.

Fortress Beatrice has shown the flock is moving in the right way.

After entering the Jacob Sheep Society Central Region flock competition she got placed 2nd in the home bred shearling ewe.

Couldn't be happier with her, just getting a rosette this time round is amazing. Looking forward to see how the flock continues to develop.

Fortress Jacob had a good day out at the Jacob Sheep Society Wales show and sale.
Was meant to go for 2 but managed to sneak 4 in the trailer.
Adding a strong shearling ewe from the Grove Flock with the matching ewe lamb from the same pen. Also, another ewe lamb from the Hope Pedigree Livestock and one from the Gobaith flock.
Looking forward to see them grow on and what they add to the flock.

Well where to start!!
Moreton in marsh show 2025 will be one to remember for me!!
With 5 sheep entered and showing there for the first time i came away with,
🥈aged ram
🥇shearling ram
🥇ram lamb
🥇shearling ewe
Ewe lamb wasnt placed.

However, the shearling ram then went on to take breed champion.🏅
To say I was over the moon is an understatement.

Now to look forward to January and when all the planning and prep for next season starts.

Had a great day at the Jacob Sheep Society Central Region sale in Worcester.
With store lambs placed 1st. And my shearling being pulled in 5th in a strong class.
Thank you to all purchasers and under bidders with 8/8 sheep taken finding new homes.

I also managed to treat my self to a new ram for the flock. Welcoming the supreme champion on the day Elmley Jacob Sheep colin the caterpillar
