👻 When you know, you know…

👀 Coming soon…

👋🏻 MEET THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK…

👀 If you’ve been into HSH recently, you may have noticed a few new faces behind the counter.

So, from left to right, meet Liam, Emma and Marco, our newest full-time recruits ❤️

☕ LIAM
Liam’s actually been with us for a couple of months now and, when he joined, he was starting pretty much from scratch on coffee.

But he’s learned FAST and is now confidently working the coffee bar.

🎨 His coffee has come on ridiculously quickly. The latte art, however, is still finding its identity. If you’re used to seeing a perfect rosetta on top, Liam’s may look more like a houseplant that’s been left unattended for a fortnight. 😂

💭 He can be a little quiet at first, but don’t let that fool you. There’s a very good sense of humour hiding in there, especially when we’re winding him up.

✨ EMMA
Emma is one of our newest additions and basically walked in and immediately showed us what she’s made of on the coffee bar.

☕ She’s already smashing it, makes a mean latte and, much to Liam’s annoyance, her latte art has now become his inspiration. 😂

🏃🏻‍♀️ We LOVE when someone hits the ground running with coffee, because we know how much you lot love our blend. She’s now getting stuck into learning everything else HSH has to throw at her.

💪🏻 MARCO
Also new to the HSH crew and already making a brilliant impression.

Personable, hardworking, a great attitude and very determined to show us what he’s made of. Exactly the sort of energy we love having in the team.

❤️ Starting somewhere new can be daunting, especially somewhere as busy as HSH, so thank you to all our regulars who have already made these three feel so welcome.

👋🏻 So… who have you met already? Liam, Emma or Marco?

And if the answer is none of them, make sure you say hello next time you’re in ❤️

💔 TWO GOODBYES… AND TWO VERY EXCITING NEW CHAPTERS!

🥹 It’s that time again. Two more members of the HSH family are spreading their wings, so it’s only right we embarrass them publicly before they go…

💪🏻 First up, Izzy

❤️ Izzy joined us towards the end of 2024 and very quickly became a huge part of the team.

👑 Our OG Assistant Manager, Luis’s right hand woman, and somehow one of the very few people capable of handling his sass on a daily basis without flinching.

😂 That alone probably deserves some sort of long service award.

✨ She brought loads of energy, enthusiasm and personality to HSH, and very quickly became someone we could rely on completely.

🏋️‍♀️ She’s now off to start her next chapter in the world of fitness, which feels pretty perfect for her.

😂 Despite having plenty of time to work on him, she never quite managed to get Steve hooked on the gym… so perhaps we can’t call her time with us a complete success.

❤️ Joking aside, Izzy, we’ve absolutely loved having you as part of HSH. You’ve been a massive support to us, a brilliant part of the team, and we know how passionate you are about what comes next.

🎓 And then there’s Charlie…

🤯 Charlie joined us all the way back in 2022, so we’ve genuinely watched him grow up over the last four years.

❤️ From the younger, quieter Charlie who first joined us to the confident, funny and ridiculously intelligent young man leaving us today, he’s been part of a huge chunk of the HSH story.

🧠 He’s now heading off to university to study something involving quantum mathematics… or physics… or possibly both.

😂 We’ve asked him to explain it. We still don’t understand it. Basically, he’s very clever.

🎓 We’re incredibly proud of him and excited to see what comes next. Thankfully, we’re hoping university holidays mean we haven’t seen the last of him behind the counter either!

🥹 Watching young people join the team, grow in confidence and then head off to do exciting things with their lives is one of the genuinely lovely parts of running HSH.

❤️ Izzy and Charlie, thank you for everything you’ve brought to the team. You’ll both be hugely missed, and there will always be a place for you at Holmes Sweet Home.

👋 And while we’re saying goodbye to two familiar faces, there are also some new ones appearing around HSH…

✨ Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce you properly to some of the newest members of our team.

👏🏻 For now, give Izzy and Charlie some love as they head off on their next adventures! ❤️

🏆 We’ve been shortlisted!

🥹 We’re really chuffed to have been shortlisted for the September Small Business of the Month Award, after being nominated by people in our local community.

❤️ What makes this one particularly lovely is that the shortlist was based not just on the number of nominations, but on the reasons people gave for nominating us, including our customer service and local fundraising.

🗳️ There are three brilliant local businesses on the final shortlist and voting is now open until 28th September.

🙏 If you think Holmes Sweet Home deserves your vote, we’d really appreciate it!

👋🏻 We’re keeping politics firmly out of this. We’re simply asking you to cast a vote to support a small, independent local business. Thank you to whoever nominated us in the first place. It genuinely means a lot. ❤️

I am delighted to announce the 3 shortlisted businesses for the September Small Business of the Month Award!

🏆Holmes Sweet Home – Holmes Chapel – Customer Service & Local Fundraisers

🏆GeoPCs – Sandbach – Customer Service & Recycling

🏆Millie’s Vets – Congleton – Customer Service & Community Hub

Cast your vote via this link or via my website: https://us18.list-manage.com/survey?u=931be524ff08acd93787de4ef&id=a2c8ba8def&attribution=false

Voting closes on the 28th September 2026.

Thank you to everyone who got involved and nominated so many brilliant local businesses. Choosing a shortlist was incredibly tough. We looked at both how many times each business was nominated and the heartfelt reasons people shared about why they deserved recognition.

Nominations are open all year round via this form (https://us18.list-manage.com/survey?u=931be524ff08acd93787de4ef&id=5ee79aee0b&attribution=false ) or on my website, and all businesses (including those shortlisted!) are still included in the shortlisting in the coming months.

❤️ Thank you, Holmes Chapel.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Mums and dads, nans and grandads, friends, families, allies and members of our LGBTQ+ community. Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday and made it such a brilliant day.

🎶 There was music, live performances, drinking, dancing, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, a whole lot of love.

🏳️‍🌈 Seeing so many different generations celebrating together is exactly what Holmes Chapel Pride is all about.

💷 Something you might not know is that putting the event on costs around £3,500, and it relies entirely on donations.

🚧 Even closing the road costs a couple of thousand pounds before you add permits, security and everything else needed to make the day happen safely.

🙏 So, if you came along, had a drink, danced in the street, watched the performances or simply enjoyed seeing our village come together, please consider making a donation, however small.

🌈 Your donation to Bridge The Gap helps make sure we can keep doing this and bring Pride back to Holmes Chapel again.

💖 Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, donated, supported and stood alongside us. What a day.

🌈 Holmes Chapel Pride is this Saturday! 🌈

🏳️‍🌈 As business owners who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, we’ve never been about pushing an agenda.

❤️ For us, it’s actually pretty simple: love who you want to love, be who you want to be, and let others do the same

📊 And while we’ve come a long way, there’s still a reason Pride matters. Police recorded hate crime in the UK based on sexual orientation remains around 20% higher than it was five years ago.

💛 That’s why allies matter too. We’re incredibly lucky to have an army of allies right here in Holmes Chapel, and we saw that first hand last year especially.

🙏🏻 To everyone who came out, supported Pride and stood alongside the LGBTQ+ community, thank you. It genuinely meant a lot.

💃 This Saturday, the HC Pride 2026 Street Party takes over The Square / London Road from 3pm to 7pm.

☕ At Holmes Sweet Home, we’ll be open until 8pm, serving all your usual favourites and playing some tunes 🎶

🍺🍸And yes, the b**r & cocktail bar will be open too!

🌈 Whether you’re LGBTQ+, an ally, or simply believe everyone should be able to live and love without judgement, come and have a boogie with us.

Love. Tolerance. Respect ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

P.S. If the nature of this post genuinely offends you, no problem. Scroll on by. We’ll still be here celebrating love, tolerance and respect. 🌈
