From day one you’ve always been behind us and your social media support has definitely helped spread the word .

Our HD EIGHT campaign currently has eight businesses signed up.

Which is pleasingly on-brand... but I definitely don't want it to stay that way 😂

So, we've found our first eight, and now I'm looking for the next eight.

I started the HD EIGHT campaign because we talk a LOT about shopping local, but I wanted to create something that made that a bit more tangible.

The idea is simple: shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and other retail and hospitality businesses commit to stocking at least eight products that have been made, grown, baked, brewed or created within an HD postcode.

Our first eight are:

👗 Dare Boutique
🥫 Rations - Village Store and Kitchen
🍰 Cakey’s Ltd
🥕 Scissett Farmers Market
🐾 Joey’s Pet Boutique
🍽️ The Urban Kitchen

And now I would really, really like to grow that list.

You might already be stocking eight HD-made products without really thinking about it. Or perhaps you're at three, four or five and could swap or add a few things over the next six months.

It could be locally roasted coffee, bread from a nearby bakery, b**r brewed in Huddersfield, artwork, candles, cards, gifts, clothing, produce, cakes, sauces, flowers... if it is made, grown or created in an HD postcode, it counts.

And your business doesn't actually have to be based within an HD postcode to take part. The important bit is supporting the people who make things here.

It's completely free to join, and HD8 Life will promote the businesses taking part and include them in the dedicated HD EIGHT directory.

So here's my challenge...

Can we find the NEXT EIGHT businesses to become HD EIGHT campaign members?

If you run a shop, cafe, restaurant, pub or other retail/hospitality business, have a look at what you're already selling and maybe come and join us.

If you're a local maker, grower or producer, tell us what you make in the comments too. You might just help one of our local businesses find their next supplier.

And the Quails Eggs that D G Pinder & Sons Ltd have flown off the shelf. And the first customer to buy was a regular with her daughter who wanted them . Said daughter 4-6 years old & has them Grannies so saw them and went can I have them

ODS Gardening was doing a job today and the owner of the trees told him to take whatever so he kindly thought of us Scissett Farmers Market . And they look great in the traditional box I bought a few years ago
