A wonderful day supporting grandson Finley first time showing eggs at Wensleydale Agricultural Show coming home with the silver. Six wins including all three Supreme Single Eggs. Big thanks to the Show Committee for an immaculately run event. Now firmly on our annual calendar.

Open Saturday 22nd August 10-2 for pullets, eggs and a few growers off heat. I’ve also some breeding birds available. They are going into moult and are in their working clothes but will feather up nicely. A few *cheaper project birds, midnight liaisons and companion odds and ends.

Whilst out delivering, I counted 47 Curlews on silage aftermath in Co Durham, picking up slugs or leather jackets or something very tasty. I thought they were critically red listed? Close up at the end.
