Great day at The Newbury Show. The farm team did well winning best crop of wheat, oil seed r**e and champion pedigree cattle herd.
We are very proud of Ray Watts for receiving his 54yr long service award for his outstanding work on the estate over the year which is still ongoing. He will have seen some changes over his time. 👏🏻

Now the wheat is complete and we pause and wait for spring barley to die off we look back at harvest to date.

Harvest 26 is on.. AD milling oat Harvest is underway. This crop is grown for a local AD (Anaerobic digestion) plant that produces gas ⛽️ that then powers 🏠 Apsley Farms

Takayama micronising peas hanging in there with this extreme heat. Grown for for the Japanese snack market. Low input break crop which will put a valuable amount of Nitrogen back into the soil for the following wheat crop.
