This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the brilliant team who help keep Grafham Water looking its best 💚​

Over the past few years, our gardening volunteers have transformed the areas around the visitor centre and mini golf - from bulb planting and nurturing new growth, to scattering wildflower seeds that are now coming into their own as we head into summer 🌸​

Their time, care and commitment make a real difference to the experience visitors have every day - and to the spaces we all enjoy.​

Hot weather alert - please don't swim or use inflatables in the water.
We know it looks tempting to take a dip in Grafham Water during this sunny spell - but please don't swim or use inflatables in the reservoir.
⚠️The water may look inviting, but it hides cold temperatures, strong currents and underwater hazards that can put lives at risk.
If you do accidentally find yourself in the water or in trouble, then remember to Float to Live.
Tilt your head back with your ears submerged, relax and try to control your breathing, move your hands and legs if needed, and remember that it’s OK if your legs sink. Once your breathing is under control, call for help or swim to safety.

We’re so proud to have partnered with local charity Creating Natures Corridors to bring this project to life at Grafham Water 💚

Alongside hundreds of volunteers from local businesses and communities, we’ve planted thousands of trees, creating new habitats for wildlife and a space for people to connect with nature – something we know matters now more than ever.

While the main tree planting has now come to an end, the story doesn’t stop here. Rory’s Wood has a dedicated memorial area, where you can sponsor a tree or a bench in memory of a loved one - leaving a lasting legacy in a truly special place.

Today is Earth Day 🌍

Protecting and enhancing the landscape isn’t a one‑off thing here at Grafham Water – it’s part of the work we do day in and day out.

This is one of those projects that quietly changes a place forever and we're so proud to be a part of it. As part of Grafham’s 60th year, we’ve been working with Creating Natures Corridors to plant over 18,000 trees – a living legacy that will grow long after today.

Luke explains what that means on the ground and how small actions make a big difference.

Over the past three months, more than 800 volunteers have been busy planting over 18,000 trees at Grafham Water, helping to boost biodiversity and connect habitats across the site.

As we mark 60 years of Grafham Water, it feels like a fitting legacy; people coming together to care for a landscape that means so much to so many.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers from local businesses and the local community who took the time to come and be a part of this incredible project. And of course, thank you to Creating Natures Corridors and Anglian Water for making it all possible.

Water doesn’t just shape the land here. It connects communities too. 💚

Looking for a wholesome activity for the whole family this Easter? 🐣

Head to the kiosk next to the Visitor Centre and have a go at our free Easter trail, where you’ll spot giant Easter eggs designed and decorated by local schools and community groups 😍

As we mark 60 years of Grafham Water, this feels like a really fitting way to do it – celebrating the communities around us and bringing people together.

You may notice refurbishment works underway at the Visitor Centre, but the Easter trail is open and there’s still plenty to enjoy during your visit.
