A familiar face, a fresh new chapter for Boathouse by the Sea!

I’m delighted to share, on behalf of the new owners, that Boathouse by the Sea will officially open its doors on Tuesday 3rd November!

Some familiar faces will be there to welcome you back, serving up a fantastic range of fresh fish, seafood and deli favourites.
Whether you’re a regular customer looking for your favourite fresh catch or a local chef searching for a reliable seafood supplier, the team will be pleased to hear from you.

What a fantastic night at the Taste of Kent Awards!
We are absolutely delighted that our Hythe Bay Turbot has been awarded SILVER at this year's awards. It is a wonderful recognition of the quality of the seafood we are so proud to bring to our customers.
At The Seafood Deli Kitchen, we are passionate about sourcing the very best seafood and showcasing the incredible produce available right here on our Kent coastline. To have our Hythe Bay Turbot recognised in this way means a great deal to us.

feels like a really important moment.
Whatever happens, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created and excited about what’s still to come.
So tonight, we put on our glad rags, head off to celebrate Kent’s incredible food and drink producers, and keep everything crossed…

One of my favourite questions from yesterday at the food festival...
A lovely customer asked, "How do you get the bacon in your scallop and bacon roll so crispy?"
Without missing a beat, I replied...
"Get it hot."
There was a moment of silence... then we all burst out laughing.
In all seriousness, the secret is cooking good-quality bacon over a proper heat, giving it enough time to crisp up without rushing it. Pair that with perfectly seared scallops, and you've got a roll that's hard to beat.
Sometimes the best conversations at food festivals are the ones that end with everyone having a good laugh.
