The buck that got away… not this time. 🦌

Sam returned for another stalk looking for redemption.

The very same buck we were after on his previous outing was, sure enough, back in the same area.

At around 8pm, just 20 minutes after setting off in search of Sam’s first buck, we spotted him.

What followed was a slow and careful stalk across three fields. In the moment it felt like a lifetime, but eventually everything came together and Sam was presented with the perfect opportunity.

An evening that pictures simply can’t describe, and one all of us will remember for a long time.

Congratulations again, Sam. A well-earned result after sticking with it. 🦌

🦌 Another client out in pursuit of his first buck.

The trip started on Thursday evening with a shooting assessment, making sure everything was safe, comfortable, and that confidence behind the rifle was exactly where it needed to be.

Friday morning brought an early start, fuelled by bacon butties and fresh coffee, before heading out into the countryside with high hopes.

Seen a few doe’s but the heat had pushed the deer back into the shelter of the woods, where they were keeping cool and staying well out of sight.

That’s why it’s called hunting, not shooting. Every outing is a lesson, and no matter how much experience you have, nature always has a way of reminding you who’s really in charge.

Although we didn’t put a buck on the ground this time, it was still a successful outing filled with valuable experience and memories.

Sam will be back, and next time we’ll be ready. That first buck is only a matter of time. 🦌
