Seasonal scents to enjoy this week , and the foliage I’ve used this week is something I often get asked about when I include it. Guesses welcome on what the foliage is ……the answer will be revealed next week 😄🌿

Come and grab a happy bunch of flowers, locally grown , by me on a nature friendly pesticide free field . Enjoy them , then safely add them to your compost to be recycled back into nature 🌻🐞🌿🌱🍃🌏💚

These are the only flowers available for the next week as I head away to Sidmouth festival to dance with the fantastic Chelmsford Ladies Morris team for the next week . If you happen to also be heading to Sidmouth festival - come and say hi! You can’t miss us in our rainbow stripy socks ! 🌈

Loving all the different types of sunflowers this year ! These beauties will be finding their way into some of this weeks bouquets, bunches and flower buckets. 🌻🌻🌻

Dahlias are coming along , a few weeks back they were suffering with black fly but the ladybirds 🐞 have moved in an done a remarkable job of eating through them all ! My big dinner plate types like Cafe au Lait seem to be struggling this year. Hopefully they will pick up , if the heat eases off for a bit. Wondering if the bigger types are less heat tolerant early on ?
My first dahlia to flower is always this yellow pompon , which was given to me some years back . I think it’s ‘ Golden Sceptre ‘ ( someone please correct me if it’s not -it didn’t come with a label !)
How have everyone’s dahlias been doing this year ? 🌸🌱🪴

Cutting from my first batch of gorgeous sunflowers this week , and the farm stand has been re stocked!

If you’d like to order or reserve a bunch, a gift bouquet or a bucket of ready to arrange flowers , do get in touch . I’m working around the high temps at the moment , on some days it’s just been too hot to put flowers out on the stand , but the are available for collection or local delivery ☀️🌻

Amongst the windbreaks and the weeds , there are flowers ! June can be a tricky time with flowering growing , after the flourish of spring but before the abundance of summer . Perennials can be really helpful now to help bridge the gap before the summer annuals arrive .

Lots of planting out and weeding to do to take advantage of the rain we have had . Busy days ! 🌸

Fresh flower bunches going out today to The Grazing Station in High Roding , and my flower stand will be restocked on Thursday (Galleywood , Rignals Lane ). Local deliveries at the end of the week for DIY ready to arrange flower buckets and gift bouquets . I’m fully booked for flowers for this week , but drop me and email at [email protected] if you’d like to order a bouquet or DIY ready to arrange flowers for another week .

I had some help this week from my wonderful friend Sarah , and helper Idris. They kindly kept an eye on things , watered the seedlings , and topped up the flower stand for me while I’ve had a few days away . And pleased I managed to drop flowers at earlier in the week before heading off 😅

Think I picked a good week to go as it’s been a rainy week in England! . Thank you Sarah and Idris for looking after the flowers while I’ve been away. And doesn’t Idris look very happy that he found my stash of tennis ball ‘ cane toppers 😄

A long day yesterday! Final job up of the day… topping up the flower stand in the dark ready for weekend flowers at Cannon Leys Farm yard entrance , Rignals Lane CM2 8QU.

Flowers also delivered this to to the lovely in High Roding.

☀️It’s going to be a warm few days so give your flowers a nice cool drink when you get them home , display them away from direct sunlight , and changing the water to keep it fresh will help flowers last longer in the hot weather .😎

I gave the sunflowers a bit if a pep talk today, they have been complaining about the cold night time temperatures, and also the wind , and then today …hail. But I’ve been getting this batch used to being outside and I think they are strong enough to tough it out . So today they got planted (after the hail and thunder 🌦️ ) Now looking forward to some sunmer sunflower happiness 🌻🌻🌻

It’s been a tricky few weeks trying to keep all the seedlings happy with the windy dry weather , and the cold nights . Really hope we are done with the night time lows now !

THIS WEEK locally grown Essex flowers will also be available at the wonderful in High Roding. ( we had a very jolly Christmas Wreath workshop here in December!) Drop in for flowers , drinks , a bite to eat and a chat 💐
