A bittersweet announcement from all of us at Balti Mahal 🍽️

After almost two decades of serving our incredible community, the time has come for Balti Mahal to close its doors.

We have poured our hearts into creating delicious, authentic Balti dishes and Indian cuisine, and none of this would have been possible without your support. Your loyalty, repeat visits, kind words, and encouragement over the years have meant the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We are now looking for the right person, or team, to take over Balti Mahal. Someone who is passionate, who values quality and community, and who will continue this space with care and respect while taking it forward into its next chapter.

Hey everyone,

We’re truly sorry for the continued delay in reopening. We’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to get everything back up and running, but due to ongoing staffing issues and some unexpected challenges, we’ve had to push things back once again.

We’re temporarily closed for now with no confirmed reopening date, but we promise to keep you updated as soon as we have any news.

In the meantime, please feel free to support our friends in Alness at the Balti Cottage — they’re doing an amazing job covering for us and would really appreciate your orders.

🚨 Important Update from Balti Mahal 🚨

Dear valued customers,

We wanted to let you know that Balti Mahal will be temporarily closed for around one month while we carry out essential kitchen refurbishment work. A few things need some much-needed attention, and unfortunately this means we won’t be able to serve you during this time. 😔

We truly wish we could keep the curries coming, but the renovation work makes it impossible to operate safely and to our usual high standards.

The good news? We’re incredibly fortunate to have our friends at Balti Cottage (right here in Alness) step in to help! 🙌 They’ve kindly offered to take all your orders and look after your curry cravings while we’re closed. You can count on them for the same great Indian flavours and friendly service you love.

🌨️ Snow Update: Closed Today for Safety 🌨️

We’re sorry to say we’ll be closed today—the heavy snow that piled up overnight has made travel too risky for our team to get in safely. We always put the well-being of our staff (and everyone on the roads) first!
