The winner of the Williamson Foodservice sponsored Schools Master Chef competition for Inverness & the surrounding area has been crowned. Thea Still from Inverness Royal Academy took the honours receiving her award from judge Lady Claire Macdonald from Kinloch Lodge Hotel in Skye. In an incredibly close final, the other finalists included Ella Cormack from Dingwall Academy, Peter Forbes from Charleston Academy, Highland and Samuel Houston from Inverness Royal Academy. The other judge, Michael Smith from Loch Bay Restaurant in Skye provided some excellent feedback. A massive thanks to Rotary Club of Inverness Culloden for organising this years competition. Another great evening of our staff taking part in the winter inter company karting at the always enjoyable Inverness Kart Raceway. Thanks to Rene from Tuminds Social Media for stepping in at the last minute. We made it up to 4th in this round.
It was Samuel Houston's turn to turn up the heat on his time in a professional kitchen as he was looked after by Chef David Coubrough (right) from Cafe 1 in Inverness. Samuel from Inverness Royal Academy produced an excellent two-course meal and scored highly by judge Connor Rae from Michaels Culinary School. With all four finalists now having served their time in restaurant kitchens, we look forward to the final on Tuesday 15th November at hosts UHI Inverness. Many thanks again to Rotary Club of Inverness Culloden for their ongoing organisation of these excellent events.

We had another of our schools masterchef finalists gaining some great kitchen experience this time at Ness Walk. Ella Cormack from Dingwall Academy was looked after by chef Craig Douglas and his staff and they even prepared a special menu for Ella who said she would remember the day for the rest of her life! 10/10 to all the hotel staff who made this a professional, extra special experience for this young chef.

We are grateful for Michaels Culinary School who hosted this special round.

Gary Williamson is Managing Director at Williamson Food & Drink, a wholesale business set up by his father to help open up new sales avenues for a local fresh produce grower.
Williamson Foodservice is still family run and now supplies over 3,000 food and drink products to the hospitality, catering and retail trades.
For every six cases of Pukka Tea bought, customers will receive either a Pukka Tea Selection Box or a Pukka Tea Discovery Wooden Chest free of charge. Both contain 42 sachets of tea. While stocks last.
