Secret tea?

Choosing Slasha tea for my first tea session of the year, seems I've set my tea expectations sky high 😂

An unintentionally secret tea, that in the hectic festive time I forgot to tell you about.
Nalin has created even more wonderful tea, working with Slasha Estate this year, teaching and creating tea alongside local women. Handmade from pick to finished leaf. I've been enjoying his tales of these teas and the photos he's kindly shared of Slasha. (Swipe to see)

Slasha, "tea leaves" in the local Khasi language, overlooks Lake Umiam in Shilong.
This tea bursts with sweet floral notes, so much that I'm going to have to spend time figuring them out. Such a full round mouthfeel that it feels rather indulgent. And the sweetness lingers, and feels like it builds even after drinking.
I'm not imagining that...

Less than 200g in this batch, mainly because I had this session, and now I've told you about this I will need to name and release these small batches (yup there's more than this one).

No pressure 😂

Unravel Tea 2025 wrapped

I'm still getting my head around the fact 2025 is almost over. Sometimes I find it good to look back over the year, just in an attempt to remind myself these things were real.

✨9 years trading this year, and what a year it has been.
✨Not so many markets this year, I've been careful with my energy as I tend to say yes to anything because I 'should'. All 11 markets were fantastic, and I'd go back to each if they will let me ;)
✨Two pop ups at Rebel Row, really appreciate the space and support these wonderful ladies offer.
✨This year took me back to Aberdeen for the Tall Ships, along with Tea Scotland and Scottish tea house Joanne who kindly shared a stall with me.
And with that:
✨896 packs of tea were sold in person. The volume of this did cause late nights, especially in November. Remember that every single one of these is hand packed and labelled by myself (and a little help from my partner).
I was going to avoid giving you this stat, as it feels low, but here it is:
✨181 packs of tea were sold online.
So curious about the difference between online and in person purchases, I wonder if you need to meet me and listen to my tea chat? ;)

Thank you all for your incredible support, I'd do this all again!
But I wouldn't be able to do this without you.

I will still be posting out orders after this date, and I have 2 more events left this year.
Please get any tea for Christmas sooner rather than later, and you can order to pick up at the stall (orders in 48h before, leave a note so I can make sure your order is ready)

My first infuser 🙈
Little did I realise that the tea leaves need room to unravel, to fully release their potential flavour.

Packing tea leaves into the tiny space this poorly designed infuser offers, the leaves most likely would have stayed dry in the middle.. oops!
How can tea release it's full potential like this?

I have never enjoyed drinking water.

It's boring, and sometimes tastes mineral-y (ok my word for funny)
As you may imagine, tea is my go to!
