We at Muirfield know that we’re just “small potatoes” in a big field when it comes to getting the harvest in. Luckily though, we nailed it this year with the best day of the month and some help from a neighbour, grains in, straw baled and stacked too. Loved every minute of it.
If Farming’s in you, nobody will ever take it out of you!

Barley took a right hit this year, it was hardly through the ground and got a right soaking, looked like a paddy field from a distance, starting to look good now though.

Had a couple of days mucking out cattle sheds and carting dung, first real job with the new loader and what a weapon of a thing! Fantastic wee loader.

We had a couple of round bales with just half a net jacket on them so we ran them through the square baler..... on a windy afternoon!! Haha

One Christmas Eve, many many years ago, things were getting very frustrating for old Saint Nick.

The reindeer ran off, Mrs. Claus was having an affair, the elves were smoking dope, and production of toys had come to a complete HALT, so needless to say Santa was stressed out beyond any rational point of thinking.

A little angel came into Mr. Claus's office with a christmas tree and spoke to the angry red fat man in a sweet soft voice

"Santa, I have found the most beautiful of christmas trees in the north pole!

Where would you like me to stick it?"

And that boys and girls is why you'll find an angel on top of a christmas tree.

We’ve managed to make some beautiful hay at Muirfield this year.

That beautiful that’s it’s all sold before the first flake of snow graced our parks.

The good news is that our haylage is just as beautiful and ready on the 20th November......
