Due to the extreme heat at the moment we are postponing our alpaca experiences as it’s just too hot for our boys to leave the shade at the moment .

We are so sorry for any inconvenience and we hope our visitors understand.

We will be contacting those with bookings to reschedule if possible .

We will be hopefully up and running if it’s cooler at the weekend .

It’s baby alpaca season at Hilly Ridge Alpacas is Wattisham . We have three born already and ten to go .
Three are due anytime now !

We have launched cria ( baby alpaca season) watch !

Would you like to see one born or watch the current babies playing in the field ?

Grab a picnic bench under the shade of a tree and relax and be on baby watch in the field with the expectant mums !

It could be tomorrow !
Cria watch will run every morning until middle of August . Limited tickets per day .

🦙 🐐 ⭐️ Volunteers needed ⭐️

We are looking for volunteers at Hilly Ridge Alpacas to help with various jobs around the farm .

You will be working alongside other volunteers, students and team members and of course the Alpacas and Pygmy goats .

We are looking for keen enthusiasts people with various skills to help us with the day to day running of the farm.

Some of the tasks :

⭐️ Weeding in the goat and alpaca fields
⭐️ Painting picnic benches and fencing
⭐️ pruning shrubs and trees and then making the Pygmy goats day as they love them
⭐️ helping with the care of the animals and training

In return you will be joining a friendly team and get to work alongside some beautiful animals . We will gladly help your knowledge on animal care if that’s of interest to students or anyone wanting to work with animals .

We particularly would really appreciate anyone with a spare few hours that is good with plumbing as we have some water troughs to move .
Carpentry / building as the Pygmy’s would love a sub canopy lol .

We are located in Wattisham IP7 7JS.

I really love ❤️ what we get the opportunity to do with the alpacas .🦙
Visiting residential homes working with SEN young adults and children, visiting nursery’s and schools and so much more .
On Tuesday we got to visit Prince George House in Ipswich with four alpacas .
Two of the younger alpacas are learning the ropes and are doing so well .
The professionals Hurricane & Icarius made it looked easy and were super chilled .

Lovely to see such happy smiling faces and laughter when the alpacas walked in to say hello .

One of the many highlights was Negotiator and Nigel behind the reception desk taking calls ! A new job beckons !

On Wednesday 17th June Esmee and Jo took the alpacas out away from the farm for a little change of scenery .

The alpacas were booked by a lovely group staying at Nedging hall county estate.
The group were celebrating a friends and family get together and had booked the alpacas for a lovely walk around the grounds along with a fun obstacle course !

The dream team arrived and were selected on the information given to them .

Hurricane , Apollo , Icarius , Loki , Wildcard and Stirling .

The quiz was a close run contest and a lot of thought when Into the answers before the winning team aced the last questions and took the lead and won ! 🏆.

Apollo wasn’t quite sure of the removal and set up of his obstacle course in a new location and especially as I added a new challenge “ The Black hole “ !
Only Loki managed to walk over the black hole not once but twice !
He then went on to take the winning rosette 🏵️ and took first place .

Lovely photos with a stunning gardens and grounds to walk around with a fantastic group of people .

Sunday 7th June 2026 alpaca meet and greet with Jo

We now run alpaca meet and greets for visitors who want to meet that alpacas and goats but don’t want to walk the alpacas 🦙.

Spending time in with the goats while they hand feed and meeting the alpaca yearlings who also love to walk alongside you in the paddock .

Two lovely families can’t to visit today and sure some experiences with the animals .

We try to make our farm
As accessible as we can and it’s also excellent training for the animals to see as many different things as they can . 👌

Saturday 7/06 13.30pm with Esmee

Lovely walk this afternoon with a bit of sunshine as well!

Hurricane and Simon started the walk today but Simon quickly decided he was not having it today so swapped with Apollo! The boys were super well behaved today and enjoyed all the nice long grass around the walk!

Back on the farm the girls didn’t take long to get through the pots of food and managed to save just enough for the boys. We were very popular today with the goats and got to enjoy the baby goats having a good run around their new grown up pen with the big girls!

On to the obstacle course… Hurricane and Apollo both had a great go at it but it was a close tie with just 2 seconds between Apollo’s two attempts!

Sunday 7th June alpaca experience and birthday party 🥳 with Jo.

⭐️ I love birthday 🎁 farm experiences ⭐️

This group of young ladies were an absolute pleasure from the moment they arrived at the farm .

Off we went and today we had Simon the alpaca in the team and you k ow what that means !

Yep - a few minutes into the walk and he remembered he should have gone to the toilet before leaving the farm and we all had to stop ! ✋.

Once business was resumed ( thank you Simon ) we started the quiz and allowed the boys to have some lovely grass stops ! . I love watching them happily munch away on the grass and they really do enjoy coming out for walks with visitors .

Nobody decided to have a dip in the stream even if Gary and Kevin were part of the team .

Now the farm tour was fun but as you all know we have baby Pygmy goats on farm and who could resist a cuddle ?🤗.

Obstacle course was super fun and Apollo got to go a few times which he really loved and he announced him self the winner 🏆 by stepping up onto a tree stump like a podium !

So that it we need to build a podium ! .
