Jacksons At Jedburgh We reopen on Friday 1st April 2022 for the season.

Home of The Highland Cow Experience
Farm Attraction - Scottish Borders
Highland Cows, Lamb feeding, Farm Walk, Feed the Animals, Picnic & Play amongst nature.
*We are NOT a farm park!* Tucked into the countryside, just south of Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, Kersheugh Farm has 435 acres of farmland, it's the place we call home, where our daily routines of work and raising kids blend into our family's way of life.

1000 sheep and 250 cows (including our Highland cows!) graze the land and there are also goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, our faithful gang of border collies and (every now and then) a brand new litter of gorgeous pups. We believe that the farming tradition is a vital part of the wider community, which is why we encourage the kids to get stuck in on the farm, whether it's feeding the cows their minerals or helping rear pet lambs. We invite you to share our experience of life on a working family farm through our farm tours, family and toddler sessions, and our seasonal events held at our family-friendly outdoor venue at Kersheugh Farm. At the farm this year there will be;
- Lambing Experiences
- Highland Cow Experiences
- Toddler Sessions
and we will be open for farm visits as a visitors attraction

Some days I wonder how on earth we manage it all… but I wouldn’t change this life for anything. 🤎

When Fenwick and I started building Jackson’s into what it is today, I don’t think we fully appreciated just how much it would become part of our family’s story.

The early mornings, the late nights, the muddy children, the never-ending jobs and the days when absolutely NOTHING goes to plan. 😂

It’s chaotic. It’s exhausting. And sometimes it’s really, really hard.

But then there are the moments that make you realise just how lucky you are.

Watching our children grow up surrounded by animals. Seeing them learn about hard work without even realising they’re learning. Getting to build something alongside Fenwick that one day our children will look back on as their childhood.

And then there’s you lot.

The families who keep coming back. The children we’ve watched grow up. The friendships we’ve made and the people who have become part of our story along the way.

We thought we were opening our farm to other families, but we never imagined just how much it would give back to our own.

Jackson’s will continue to grow and change, and I’m sure we’ll have plenty more challenges along the way.

But the heart of it all? Our family, our animals and the life we’re building together?

I wouldn’t change a single thing. 🤎

Come for the Highland coos… stay for the hot chocolate! 🐂☕🍂

Because is there anything better than spending an autumn afternoon with our Highland cows, getting some fresh Scottish countryside air and then warming up with a hot chocolate piled HIGH with whipped cream and marshmallows? 🤤

We think not!

There’s just something about this time of year at Jackson’s. The autumn colours, the fluffy coos, the cooler weather and the perfect excuse to treat yourself afterwards.

And let’s be honest… if your hot chocolate doesn’t come with cream AND marshmallows, what’s the point? 😂

31st October marks the end of something at Jackson’s… but NOT the end of your farm adventures! 👀🍂🐂

As the seasons change, so does life here on the farm!

From 31st October, our outdoor farm walking areas will officially close for the season.

But before anyone panics… JACKSON’S IS NOT CLOSING! 😂

We’re a working family farm, and life here carries on all year round, whatever the weather.

In fact, we’ve been working behind the scenes on some exciting new winter experiences, including a different way to enjoy our Highland coos! 🐂❄️

So while our outdoor walking areas are taking a little winter break, there’s still plenty to look forward to.

Keep following because winter at Jackson’s is going to look a little different this year… and we can’t wait to show you! 🤎

We show you the cute animals… but THIS is also the reality of running a working farm.

Jackson’s isn’t a farm park. We’re a real working farm — and that means showing you the whole story, not just the fluffy bits.

We raise animals with care and respect, but some of those animals are ultimately raised to produce food.

It’s something we think people should be able to talk about openly.

There’s a whole journey between an animal being raised on a farm and the meat you see packaged in a shop, and understanding that process helps us all understand where our food actually comes from.

For us, it’s about giving our animals a good life, prioritising their welfare and respecting the purpose for which they’re being raised.

It might not be the prettiest side of farming to show on social media — but it’s real farm life. 🤎

And when you buy meat from our farm shop, you’re supporting a real working family farm and a much bigger story behind what ends up on your plate.
