We sell lamb boxes direct from our farm to your fork – traceable, naturally raised and locally produced. Shanaghan Hill Farm is a medium sized family farm located in the heart of County Down near the hamlet of Katesbridge. The farm has been in the family for generations and is a destination for lamb that is produced sustainably and in harmony with nature. Our ethics and values are deep-rooted to t

he core of our business. We passionately believe in producing wholesome natural food that has been produced with respect for nature. We provide the highest possible animal welfare which together with the grass-fed diet produces superior lamb.

One of the most rewarding parts of regenerative farming is seeing nature respond.

Over the past few years, we've changed how we manage our pastures, focusing on soil health, grazing management and giving the land time to recover.

Now we're starting to notice more wildflowers appearing naturally across the farm—species that simply weren't here before.

It's a reminder that farming and nature can work hand in hand, and that sometimes the smallest changes tell the biggest story. 🌱🌼🐑

A big thank you to the judges and awards team for clarifying the result, and for recognising the values we work hard to uphold:

We may not have won — but being finalist and being recognised alongside outstanding farm families and rural innovators across Northern Ireland matters. It proves that small farms with big values, regenerative farming, and community-led food events belong at the table. Huge congratulations to all the winners, we especially enjoyed the company at our table with winners including Dale Orr, the Wilson’s and the lovely Weir family from Rathfriland!

To every producer, neighbour, chef, volunteer and visitor who backed Lamb & Local, thank you. You helped turn a first-year idea on a hill in Katesbridge into a platform for local food, farming pride, and genuine rural connection.
