Some very sad news from the Kettle today… please respect our privacy during this difficult time. 😭

After two years of feeding him, raising him and teaching him to make beautiful coffees, our Josh has decided to abandon his café parents and run off to university in Southampton...armed only with big dreams and a suspiciously tiny pink backpack. 😂🎒

We’re annoyingly very proud of you, Josh! Go have the best time the Kettle nest will be waiting when your student loan runs out. ❤️☕🎓

Right.

This weekend is your last shout for a bit. After Sunday, we disappear for two weeks.

A few of our lot are heading to uni. They need the run up, and we want them walking in there ready to take over, not still hunting for a wooden spoon. Go on. Cause some trouble. The good kind.

The rest of us are not on a beach. We'll be here, covered in paint, getting the new bakery ready. It's happening. Soon. That's all you're getting.

So: today, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, then we lock up.

If you've been putting off the Turkish Eggs, this is the weekend. Three poached eggs, garlicky yoghurt, chilli butter, sourdough. Come and finish the plate.

Back Thursday 10 September.

Eat us out of house and home. We'll need the quiet.

She’s fresh, she’s colourful, she’s ridiculously tasty… and she’s joining the menu 😍

Our new Green Goddess Plate comes loaded with green lemon & garlic butter bean hummus, roasted asparagus, fresh tomatoes, cucumber, mixed falafels, herbs, toasted seeds and charred sourdough. 🌿
🌱 Vegan as she comes
🥚 Add a poached egg
🧀 Or go veggie with grilled halloumi or feta
Basically… a massive bowl of all the good stuff, and somehow still feels like a treat 😂

💚 A little update from us…

As many of you know, we’re busy working behind the scenes on SASAS, our new bakery and coffee shop! 🥐☕

To help us get the doors open as soon as possible, we’ll be temporarily closing the café on Wednesdays from this week. Having that extra day each week to renovate will make a huge difference, and we’ll return to normal opening as soon as SASAS is ready.

⭐ This Saturday (11th July), we’ll also be closed due to a private function.

🥞 Sunday is business as usual, though! Our pancakes have been incredibly popular recently, so here are a few photos to tempt you… 😍

Our very good friend Michelle is doing something amazing for dogs who need a second chance.

Michelle Wilson runs Pawfection Rehoming Foundation in Keighley, and she’s raising money to build proper kennels so rescue dogs have a safe, comfortable place to stay while they wait for their forever homes.

We usually support Michelle through our annual charity ball, but the kennels need help sooner, so we thought: with over 7,000 of you lovely lot here, imagine what we could do if everyone gave just £1.

Well, it’s time to finally introduce the project we’ve been teasing…

Many of you already know me and my mum, Saskia, and after years of talking about it, we’re finally bringing a new idea to life together.

SASAS will be a coffee house, micro bakery and deli opening on Bow Street in Keighley, centred around beautiful bakes, pastries, cakes, focaccia sandwiches, great coffee and all the little things we love most. ❤️

We’re still at the beginning of the journey, but the teaser page is now live, and we’d love for you to take a look.

From layered iced matchas to super cosy hojicha lattes, we’ve been working on some gorgeous new drinks for the menu.
We’ve also added some new brunch favourites too… including our Hot Honey Halloumi Bagel 🔥🍯
