We were very excited to be asked by Claire and Amir to create a feast featuring some classic Persian dishes from Amir’s homeland, to share with family and friends on their wedding day. Many aubergines had to be sacrificed! After a very Scottish start to proceedings - grrr Scottish weather, everything was just delightful. As you can see, the couple had made the teepee look beautifully, ‘vintagely’ exotic with vintage tea sets, fabulously flouncy peonies, Persian rugs and beautiful fruit bowls. We served Kashke Bademjan - a tasty aubergine dip with garlic and lots of dried mint with Barbari bread made by Emma and Ghormeh Sabzi - a tasty Iranian stew which is slightly green with loads of herbs and spinach. And one or two other things….And of course we took a barbecue so Robert could roast some delicious slow cooked lamb. Thank you Claire and Amir for trusting us with this one - it was fun to try and bring a little bit of Iran to the Scottish Borders for you. Wishing you both a very, very happy life together. And thank you WFK team - great work with the teapots! And thank you Cathy for coming to be official food photographer! Note - last shot of Baklava not my work, please don’t ask me to make it, but isn’t it beautiful?
