A little reminder that Kin. is now closed until Thursday 10th September.

We’re taking some much needed time to spend properly with our kids, while also getting stuck into a little DIY and giving the café some love behind the scenes.

The past few months have been incredibly tough for our family, with my mum spending a lot of time between hospitals in Lancaster and Manchester receiving life-saving treatment. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every customer who has shown us kindness, patience and understanding during such a difficult and worrying time. It has meant more to us than you will ever know.
A huge thank you to our amazing kids, who have worked so hard alongside us and helped keep Kin. going we couldn’t do it without you. And a special mention to our little man, OB, who has been an absolute star sitting patiently in the café while we’ve had no other childcare options. He’s normally Nana’s little shadow, so things have felt very different for him too, but he’s taken it all in his stride. We’re incredibly proud of you all and so grateful that Kin. truly is a family effort.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our little family business. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back to Kin. on Thursday 10th September refreshed, reunited and with a few exciting changes to share.

A little heads-up from us…
We’ll be closing Kin. early at 2pm on Saturday 29th August, before taking some much-needed time away with our kids after what has been a wonderfully manic summer!
We’ll be serving a reduced but ridiculously delicious brunch menu on the Saturday, so there’ll still be plenty of good things to enjoy before we head off.

There are exciting things happening behind the scenes while we’re away…

After another incredibly busy week, we’re taking Monday 17th to catch up on some much-needed prep!

The doors may be closed, but we’ll be behind them chopping, baking, brewing and getting Kin. fully stocked and ready for another busy week.

Since our Steak Frites Nights have completely filled up week after week… we’ve made a decision…

They’re staying for autumn!!! 🍷

Same French bistro vibes. Same incredible food. Just a little longer to enjoy them.

Autumn dates will be dropping very soon, and if summer has taught us anything, it’s this… don’t hang about.

Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

You lot are keeping us on our toes…
And the truth is, we simply can’t keep up with the demand right now.
For the past couple of months, our Sundays haven’t been days off. They’ve been spent back in the kitchen re-prepping for the week ahead, and on the odd days we’re closed, we’re doing exactly the same. It’s the only way we’ve managed to keep the doors open and the food coming.

So this weekend, we’re giving ourselves something we’ve been seriously lacking… a proper day of rest.
At the minute we’re surviving on caffeine, energy drinks and the occasional snack grabbed between orders. As much as we love what we do, we also need a day with our children to do the usual, a boat load of washing and a re-set.

That means Kin. will be closed on Monday too, giving us the time we desperately need to prep for another busy week ahead.

And after the day you’ve all given us today… Bodey has a mountain of baking waiting for him. 🤯

Thank you for filling our little café every single week, for your patience when you have to wait, and for supporting this slightly chaotic family dream of ours. We don’t take a second of it for granted.

We’ll be back, rested, stocked up and ready to do it all again.
