Happy Apple Day. It started in 1990, when the charity Common Ground held the first one in Covent Garden to celebrate the UK's orchards and the apples that grow in them. We're marking it the local way: apples from the shelf at North Lane, and a litre of apple juice (£4.95) added to your order. 🍏

It's World Food Day. Our small part: loose fruit and veg, so you buy what you'll actually eat and take home less packaging. All our food waste is collected and turned into compost by a local producer, and our delivery boxes are reused. 💚

Sunday batch-cook: roast squash soup. Roast one chopped butternut squash with two onions and a few garlic cloves for about 40 minutes at 200°C, blend with a litre of hot stock, season well. Serves four, and it freezes. More ideas on our recipe page. 🍲
