Low Bridge End Farm The farm is in an idyllic, peaceful setting overlooking St. It has appeared as a typical Lakeland Farm in various books.

John's Beck, with stunning views to Blencathra, Helvellyn and Castle Rock and only one mile from Thirlmere Lake shore. The 50-acre farm is run along traditional and sympathetic lines preserving the outstanding natural beauty and quiet. It has never been intensively farmed, the hens run free, the ducks and geese swim in the beck and the four-legged beasts graze peacefully. (Even the deer!) Mechanic

The farmhouse is beautifully situated, tucked under a fell with a beck (crossed by our own bridge) in front of it. Dippers, kingfishers and herons are among the many birds to be seen in the valley. We have established a lot of woodland, which forms part of the trail. Much of it is oak and beech as well as Christmas trees and beautiful larch.

The valley road is closed again, this time for fixing pot holes, the closure barrier is just to the south of our farm gate. The Tea Garden is still open every day except Mondays, 10.30am - 4pm, and we still have a sunflower, even if there isn't much in the way of actual sun!
