Five ladies on their way to their forever home. 12 months on a “free range” farm and this is what they look like….if you have to buy shop bought eggs, buy free range, but know that they’re still kept like this. Good news is we should have more hen eggs soon….and hoping to rescue some ducks in a month.

It’s been a sad 24 hours for for us as we’ve lost two of our much loved hens. One of our lovely blue egg layers went over the rainbow bridge, with the help of our vet, after a short illness and our striking Sybil (orange lady at the front with friend Speckles) sadly passed away overnight from old age in the coop.

The girls aren’t enjoying this stormy weather but we’re still getting lovely fresh eggs from them. Being on the sunshine...
