A dodgy video to show Monty's prospective new owner that he is one in a million. I haven't done any work with the calves this year as weather has been far too hot to put any animal under pressure but he's a natural. Not worried about any handling even when unrestricted in the paddock. Basil (blue head collar) is also a sweetie but Monty is unbelievable. He will make a "go anywhere do anything, heart reindeer" for his new owner. We will miss him. xx

Although Bilbo has stripped his velvet, he still has a "kind eye", so his hormones are far from peaked yet.
The vents under his eyes will open soon if he gets angry and a little brown secretion will appear. He will also start peeing on his rear legs, which is always fun to see, as a bull looks like an elephant balancing a a beach ball to get that scent on his rear legs!
I will post pictures of Bilbos eye vents opening, when they do but remember this kind eye for now. ;)

Bilbo has stripped his velvet, so his hormones are now rising rapidly.
Cuddles boy could become an absolute nightmare but the last few years he has been pretty well behaved when his hormones go through the roof but there is no guarantee as he gets older and more dominant. The next few weeks will be interesting. ;)

Goodness, we needed rain but not all the rainfall that we have missed in the last 3 months in one day! Wow, clothes had to go in tumble drier, I nearly went in with them. :)
I must do less energetic rain dances in future.

Had a lovely day today with Archie. He loves reindeer and wanted a day of work experience with them.
He's an expert on chickens, as his mother Helen own's The Old Bakehouse Hatchery, so I picked his brains too.

Now it's only fair, I post "Udder Watch", to show how close the girls are getting to calving, so here is "Cojones Watch" to show me how close Bilbo is getting to going into rut.... Very close, as most of the year they are hardly noticible. They'll never compare to a ram but don't tell Bilbo, he's proud of them! :)

Very odd chicken..
Billinda continues to join me wherever I go, even joined me in caravan while I updated paperwork of reindeer worming. I thought once I stood up she would panic and leave but no, she didn't jump down until I was outside and then hopped down to follow me back to her flock.
