At 5:50am Pookie woke me with her final meow.
Sleep tight the best ever farm cat, you will be much missed by us all. You didn't quite make your 17th Birthday but were a very good age. You were much loved, even by those who weren't naturally cat lovers. :)
I appologise for all the photo memories - 8 1/2 years in the "Life of Pookie". 💔
Her final resting place is guarding the entrance where she met me everyday and kept an eye on her neighbour friends. Thank you Terry Potter for helping me this morning, so much appreciated. xx
Northampton thank you for 8 1/2 wonderful years

"What's on my mind" this FB page asks?
The Storms coming in!
Nothing I can do, but worry..... trees felling fences, quail run blowing away (as it has a roof), field shelters blowing over but they are large and staked down and I'm sure they'll be something I hadn't even started to worry about! Let's hope the rutting paddock isn't broached or that will be fun!
At least Pookie is safe at home, she has stayed in bedroom all day (her chioce), mainly sleeping, but eating reasonably well for her, and using litter tray which was a worry but good girl. :)

Pookie update.
I have been thinking long and hard about this decission as Pookie hated living in her previous household environment and had become extremely vicsious. She thrived as a "farm cat" once she came to us and became very loving without the stress but she is getting very old now (17 in January) and unfortunately showing it. I have decided to bring her into my bedroom for her last few weeks. I will keep her away from the stress of Kali (MC cat) and Elkie (bouncy Labrador). BUT as I type she's come downstairs to join us. I will be on guard protecting her from "rough & tumble"as she is rather senile and delicate now. This post has taken me longer than usual as I am monitoring all behaviours of big MC, Lab and my delicate Pooky, but Pooky is still laying on my lap and being gently sniffed at by dog - both seem happy, so all good for now ###

What a lovely memory of some that we have loved and lost., Leading the herd is my much missed Katya
You can never herd these beasties but they will follow you to the end of the earth. ###

All herd have had their 2nd Blue Tongue vaccine.
Here's the "rutting paddock" deer and that was fun but the "Auto Inject" gun is a life saver for a bull in full rut - I can get him from 3' away. I do feel a little sorry for Bilbo though as his needle is huge. :)

AI drives me mad at times. :)
Trying to find out the name of colour of one of my unusual Coturnix quail hatch (5 weeks now). Sometimes it tells me it's a Grouse!, other times it tells me it is a Rosetta or standard Pharoah! Please try harder AI. I think she/he may be a "Sparkly" with pied markings but still researching. Pretty none the less. With this colouration feather sexing isn't possible so I have to wait for maturity to vent sexbut it's a "keeper" :)
