I’m out and about today with one of our favourite little treats — fish and chips!

I have to admit, I was a little concerned when I woke up to thunderstorms this morning ⛈️

Not because of the rain itself, but because I knew how many of our lovely customers had ordered our Ploughman’s Lunch with the expectation of a brighter day.

But then I thought… actually, a light and tasty Ploughman’s goes down rather well whatever the weather!

A delicious pork pie, thick slices of mature Cheddar, ham, pickles and a lovely fresh salad — the perfect little lunch, whether you’re enjoying it in the sunshine or listening to the rain tapping against the window.

We’re delighted to welcome Mr & Mrs Parkes and Mrs Capewell, all from Halesowen, who have joined us this week.

We’re always so pleased when new customers choose Community Meal Care, and we hope you enjoy our meals and service!

And it’s also been lovely to welcome back Mr Harrison from Halesowen, who has returned to us after a long stay in hospital.

It’s wonderful to see him back with us, and we’re very happy to have him home and enjoying his meals again.

🥗 The weather may be cooling down, but our salads are still proving VERY popular! 🌿

There’s something about a fresh, colourful salad that just hits the spot — and our customers certainly agree!

But don’t worry if you’re craving something a little more comforting… our hot, wholesome meals are still going strong too! 🍽️

Today’s menu included a generous, hearty sausage casserole — proper comfort food packed with flavour — alongside leek and bacon in a rich, thick, creamy cheese sauce.

🍽️ Today’s Turkey Roast Dinner 🍽️

There’s nothing quite like a proper Sunday roast… especially when it’s served piping hot and ready to enjoy! ❤️

Today’s dinner was a delicious roast turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and plenty of rich gravy — all freshly prepared and served plated, just as you would at home.

And yes… that steam in the video is very real! ♨️😉

At Community Meal Care, we believe a Meals on Wheels service should be about more than simply dropping off a meal. It’s about providing a hot, tasty, homemade-style dinner that looks and feels like a proper meal.

Just look at that plate! 😍

Tender roast beef, plenty of rich gravy, golden roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, carrots, broccoli and Brussels sprouts — a proper traditional dinner with no skimping on the good stuff!

Because when it comes to a roast dinner, we believe there should be plenty of meat, plenty of gravy and definitely more than enough Yorkshire pudding! 😂❤️

There’s something very special about a proper fish and chip lunch — and today, our kitchens have been filled with the delicious smell of golden, crispy battered fish! 😍

Our fish is cooked until beautifully crisp on the outside, while staying flaky and tender inside — the perfect Friday treat for our customers.

🍽️ Because nobody wants more mash than mince! 😂

At Community Meal Care, we believe a proper dinner should be generous, hearty and full of the good stuff — and that means plenty of filling!

Our homemade minced beef pie is packed with a generous layer of rich, moist minced beef, topped with golden, fluffy mash and finished with plenty of delicious gravy. Served alongside fresh vegetables for a proper, comforting meal. ❤️

Because let’s be honest… a mountain of mash with a tiny bit of mince underneath just isn’t going to cut it! 😉

We believe our customers deserve a meal that looks and tastes like something you’d be happy to put on your own family’s table.

Family Fun Day at Somers Social Club!

We had such a lovely time at the Family Fun Day at Somers Social Club, where we were delighted to be invited along by the wonderful Visiting Angels.

It was fantastic to meet so many local people, have a chat, and tell everyone a little more about Community Meal Care and what we do.

We provide home-cooked meals delivered straight to your table, helping older people and those who may need a little extra support to enjoy a nutritious meal without the worry of cooking.

Our service can be particularly valuable for people living with dementia or other conditions that make preparing meals difficult, helping families have that extra bit of reassurance that someone is receiving a proper, nourishing meal each day.

And of course… we couldn’t turn up to a Family Fun Day without bringing a little something to eat! 😉

A huge thank you to Visiting Angels for inviting us and to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello. It was lovely to be part of such a great local event! 🌿

At Community Meal Care, our prawn cocktails are made with a proper bowlful of juicy prawns, coated in our creamy Marie Rose-style sauce, served alongside fresh crisp salad and generously buttered bread.
