On Wednesday, we headed for the Houses of Parliament as we joined a group of Northern Ireland’s independent brewers at Westminster. 🍺🏛️
We met with Tonia Antoniazzi MP, Chair of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee, to discuss the pressing issues facing our local brewing industry.
Northern Ireland’s outdated licensing laws severely restrict when independent breweries can open their taprooms, how we can sell our products and our ability to grow a sustainable business.
Alongside this, access to the local pub market remains extremely difficult, with many venues tied into supply agreements that prevent them from stocking locally brewed draught b**r.
With the number of independent breweries in Northern Ireland continuing to decline, meaningful reform is needed to protect our industry, support local jobs and allow independent NI b**r to play a greater role in our hospitality and tourism sectors.
It was encouraging to have these important conversations in Westminster and to showcase the quality of b**r being produced across Northern Ireland.
