After 32 years away in Warwickshire I returned to exact place of birth in Nov 2010! My dad, James, bought this small farm, old Georgian farmhouse and conjoined barns in the early 50s and together with his wife Evelyn raised my 3 sisters and me. Since returning I've been doing some major renovating in the house and also setting a new business direction: given the location of this property on a main

road, it seems eminently sensible to sell my produce directly to the public. Fresh, good quality, nutritious fruit and vegetables with minimal food miles.

Dahlias, hypericum and eucalyptus all looking good, snowberries starting to form.

The authors of ‘Balloo: a hidden history’ are planning to do a book signing here on Saturday, probably from mid morning.
I still have some copies available.

be here from 10.00 til 13.00 approx.

Dahlias, hypericum and eucalyptus are all looking good.

The good news first: I can offer you dahlias, hypericum, limited snowberry, and eucalyptus as cut-your-own tomorrow.

The not-so-good news is that I have
NO STRAWBERRIES
to offer tomorrow Saturday.

The tunnels will be closed off to pickers til next Thursday, 27/8, to allow the crop to recover from the heavy picking it’s had over the past few days. I simply haven’t got the supply to meet the demand. However the crop hasn’t finished and once recovered will continue to yield well into September.

Ready picked strawberries 🍓 are back in the shop; PYO will resume in September.

Rob the Oyster 🦪 Man will be with us on Saturday morning, offering raw and cooked.

Lots of delicious local veggies, spuds 🥔 and fruit in the shop.

Pick your own flower season is here so find your secateurs and come on over; brighten your home with a large bunch.

Dahlia 80p/bloom
Hypericum £1.50/stem.
Eucalyptus: minimum 75p per stem; the price depends on length and type.

Still plenty of redcurrants to pick; ideal for jam, jelly and use in gravies and sauces.

Queens and Accord spuds in the shop alongside a host of local vegetables and other goodies. Salad items are from Darius of Tullyveery Mkt Gdn.

In terms of fruit only redcurrants are available to pick at the moment, £6.50/kg.

The first dahlias are ready to cut, as well as hypericum.

I’m now stocking British Queens potatoes, £2.50/kg and Accord, £2.30/kg….as well as locally grown peas, broad beans, beetroot, carrots, cauliflower, Hispi cabbage etc

PYO information:

For this weekend I can offer lots of redcurrants and a good amount of blackcurrants.

Gooseberries are coming to an end.

Raspberries are in short supply due to strong demand and a light crop; I do have a good supply of frozen, 250gm/£4.20

Lots of good fruit and vegetables etc in the shop and plenty of beautiful planters.

Redcurrants and blackcurrants are available in good volume, PYO only, £6.50/kg

Raspberry volume is decent but not abundant, PYO £11.50/kg.

No booking needed.

Lots of goodies in the farm shop so come on over.
