After 32 years away in Warwickshire I returned to exact place of birth in Nov 2010! My dad, James, bought this small farm, old Georgian farmhouse and conjoined barns in the early 50s and together with his wife Evelyn raised my 3 sisters and me. Since returning I've been doing some major renovating in the house and also setting a new business direction: given the location of this property on a main

road, it seems eminently sensible to sell my produce directly to the public. Fresh, good quality, nutritious fruit and vegetables with minimal food miles.

Lots of great homegrown and local produce available; freshness and flavour combined.

I can offer a light pick of strawberry and a heavy pick of gooseberry for those who like them firm and sharp. Blackcurrants are starting to turn but need another week
or so.

Strawberries are so well picked that I must discourage folk from coming over, if that’s all you’re after. I will be closing the polytunnels off to the public tomorrow morning.

However I have loads to offer in the farm shop and yard, including:

Comber early potatoes £4.30/kg

Picked raspberries £4.20/250gm

Planters - priced according to size

Hanging baskets - priced according to size

Plus the usual offering of quality fruit and vegetables.

Crop advice for the incoming week:

Strawberry volume is declining though there’s still a decent amount to pick.

Raspberries have started in the polytunnels but this isn’t a PYO crop. 250gm for £4.20 ready picked and in the fridge.

Gooseberries still a couple of weeks away.

Blackcurrants should be turning colour by the end of the month.

Redcurrants and outdoor raspberries should be ready to start mid July.

Usual opening:
Tuesday-Saturday 0900 - 17.00

PYO is good to go…earlier than expected…and will run well into June. Good quality, great flavour. PYO strawberries £7.50...

PYO is good to go…earlier than expected…and will run well into June.

Good quality, great flavour.

PYO strawberries £7.50/kg
Ready picked £8/kg

No booking or prepayment this season but avoid Saturdays if possible.

Please adhere to best practice when on this site, namely:
Don’t eat fruit until you’ve paid for it.
Don’t drop fruit on the floor.
Supervise children at all times.
Enjoy the experience.

The latest you can arrive for picking is 16.30

I can offer a good range of summer bedding plants, baskets and planters, with temperatures now more suitable.

Jersey Royals, while expensive, give a taste of summer.
I’ll have my own early spuds in a week or so.

Picked strawberries available in good volume and great quality; £8/kg.
PYO still a few weeks away.

The soft fruit cropis on its way after successful and ongoing pollination.
Strawberries should be ready in June, with raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, jostaberries, bayberries and redcurrants a few weeks later. More details closer to the time.

In the meantime the farm shop is open for seasonal fruit, vegetables, preserves, muesli, tray bakes and the first batch of summer bedding plants. We look forward to welcoming you.
