🍳 COOKERY CLASS @ THE GEORGE — SRI LANKAN EGG HOPPERS WITH MUTTON STEW 🇱🇰

Our September cookery class is taking us to Sri Lanka.

Join us on Saturday 5th September as we explore the techniques behind Sri Lankan Egg Hoppers with Mutton Stew — a comforting combination of crisp, bowl-shaped hoppers with an egg cooked into the centre, served alongside a rich and beautifully spiced mutton stew.

During the session, you’ll see how the hopper batter is prepared and cooked to get those delicate, crisp edges, while also learning how to build the depth of flavour that makes a proper Sri Lankan-style mutton stew so satisfying.

It’s a chance to pick up some new techniques, learn more about the flavours behind the dish and, once everything is ready, sit down and enjoy what’s been prepared.

No experience needed — just come along, enjoy the afternoon and discover something a little different with us at The George.

September at The George at Kilsby isn’t just about what’s on — it’s about having somewhere you can come, settle in and enjoy good food with good people. 🍷🍴

There’s plenty happening throughout the week, from our Sizzler Nights on Wednesdays and Tapas on Thursdays to Steak Night and live music on Fridays, followed by our weekend BBQ Buffet and Saturday live music.

But sometimes you don’t need an occasion at all. Come in for a relaxed lunch, meet friends for dinner, enjoy a drink in the countryside surroundings or simply spend a few hours catching up around the table.

Add in Happy Hours Monday–Friday and our Early Week Privilege on Mondays & Tuesdays, and there’s a reason to visit whatever day suits you.

🍂 SEPTEMBER AT THE GEORGE AT KILSBY

A new month means another full calendar at The George, with plenty of reasons to join us throughout September.

Midweek, there’s our Sizzler Night every Wednesday and Tapas Night every Thursday, while Fridays bring Steak Night followed by live music from 7:30pm. At the weekend, our BBQ Buffet is back on Saturday and Sunday, with live music on Saturday evenings too.

If you’re planning an earlier visit, don’t forget our Early Week Privilege every Monday and Tuesday, giving you 25% off the à la carte menu when booked online five days in advance. And from Monday to Friday, Happy Hours run from 3–6pm with 20% off drinks.

We’ve also got our Cookery Class on Saturday 5th September at 12pm, this time featuring Sri Lankan egg hoppers and mutton stew.

And if there’s a birthday coming up, speak to us about celebrating at The George with family and friends. 🥂
