Hi, it's me, Lou! I've been a bit quiet here for some time as we closed the farm down in 2025 and have been busy packing up the business. After losing multiple family members in the space of 3 years (both of my parents and my grandad, and Matts mum and older brother) we took some time to re-evaluate life, and eventually decided we needed to take some time back for ourselves, our kids, and our family. After 15 years farming, it was one of the hardest decisions to make and lots of tears and sadness at what feels like another loss, but we are trying to look ahead at what the future looks like for all of us.
With our littlest starting big school in Sept, I have seized the opportunity, and enrolled to go to college (CNM, College Naturopathic Medicine) in November 😃🙌 and after the 3 years I hope to qualify as a naturopath and nutritionalist. My aim is to help people with their diets, healthy eating struggles, and give nutritional guidance. I struggled with an eating disorder growing up and now have very fussy eaters of my own, so I feel very driven to help others in any way possible.
Our Instagram page will remain very farm and food related, as food production and farming practices have a direct impact on our health. Food can be nutrient dense or nutrient depleted, and this is dependent on the farming methods used to grow or rear the food itself. We hope to continue to educate people on farming practices both good and bad, and point you in the right direction.
I hope you will continue to follow us on our journey on this account Wellies_to_Wellness which was previously New Macdonalds Farm (should notably now revert back to Old Macdonalds Farm ðŸ¤) and if you fancy being a students guinea pig, please let me know as I will be in need of case studies!
Much love
Lou Mac x
