Harvey is home!! ❤️

Surgery has gone well and he seems ok. Thank you and well done to Laura and the team at Haven Veterinary Group who have been great as always. I need to keep a close eye on him over the next few days, and he’ll need lots of meds, but he’s home and that’s the main thing.

He’s in a flat cage for now, with towel for bedding, as advised by the vets so that his wound stays clean and doesn’t jump about too much and cause his wound to open up. In a few days him and Harper will be back in their normal enclosure.

Wish him the best of recovery and pray for me - I do keep taking on things to keep me busy - sleep is overrated anyway 🤣

Harvey and Harper Update!

Dropped off Harvey at the vets this morning for his neutering, he had harper with him for company as they’re bonded. I was very nervous, as with all operations, they come at a risk.

Just had a call from the vets and he’s come round from the op and they’re looking after him, giving him some food etc.

We’re super happy with how this has gone so far, and fingers crossed that it continues to go well.

I will be going to pick him up later on.

Unfortunately, we are still quite a way from reaching the £126 in donations to cover his op. So, we’re going to have to cover this ourselves. We will always do what we can for the rescue animals that we take in, but it just means that it comes out of other things we have money ear marked for.

School season is nearly upon us!

Do you work at a school/nursery/children’s provision or part of a PTA? Do you wish to organise a school trip/visit to a farm and learn about animals and farming in an immersive and hands on way?

If so, we are the place for you. Our site is an animal rescue and education centre ran by a qualified teacher. Visits can be tailored to meet curriculum needs and objectives.

Also, if trips out are proving to expensive with travel etc, we can come to you!

Another busy weekend for Little Haven Farm.

This weekend we’ve been back at LakeView Village Outlet in Doncaster with some of our animals! It’s been a lovely two days meeting families and seeing the joy on their faces when they meet our animals.

A massive thank you to Emma who came with Sam and I yesterday, and to Molly who came with Sam and I today.

Also, thank you and well done to Emma, Beactrice and Charlotte who looked after farm and our lovely customers today.

This weekend has been real team work! Now for a relaxing glass of w**e and a rest! It’s been a crazy few weeks, but I wouldn’t change it xx

Harvey and Haroer Update!

The pair of them are doing well in their settling in and are very cute.

Following their initial health check, it was confirmed that Harvey and Harper are indeed male and female and in tact. Therefore, Harvey needs a neutering op.

Harvey has been booked in for surgery next Friday and it is going to cost £126.00. We have had a donation of £50 towards the cost from the people who brought them to us, but there’s still £76 to find.

A personal shout out from me personally.

As you all know, as a family, we are going through a lot and the farm is exceptionally hard work on top. HAF clubs bring us and the children such a lot of joy, but are a lot of hard work both behind the scenes and whilst the children are with us.

Without doubt, I couldn’t do HAF without the wonderful ladies and gents that help me to run and deliver the clubs. The hard work and dedication of these people is outstanding, the feedback we receive is testament to it and I want to take the time to say thank you to them. Many of these people give up their summer holidays or take time from work to do these clubs with me, which is amazing.

So, thank you to Jo, Emma R, Emma P, Molly, Kelly, Julie, Janet, Sarah, Lucy, Emily, Gabby, Sam, Amelia, and Callum.

You’re all amazing 🤩

Just wanted to give a massive shout out to Haven Arms Hedon for their hard work over the summer making our delicious and healthy HAF Club meals.

Alison, Mark and the staff have all been super wonderful feeding us and letting us use their restaurant when the weather turned rough!

They are honestly wonderful and we love them very much.

Our summer HAF clubs are finished and what a great time we have had!

Today we have received a lovely card from one of our little club attendees! They’ve loved every bit of it and we’ve loved having them!

We will be hosting more clubs in the Christmas 🎄 holidays, these will be advertised later in the year!

Thank you to every child and their grownups - it’s been a blast! Now time for a rest 😴🤣

Well what a day we’ve had today!!

Little H had a bit of a tussel with Billy and ended up with a pretty decent gash on his head.

Photo is of him patched up, you didn’t want to see the before 🫣

They often tussel each other, as boys do, and never happens like this.

So we called out the vets and after some fun getting Little H to behave 🤣🤣, he has had a full clean up and stitches to help his wound mend.

Thank you to Haven Veterinary Practice for your swift response and patience while fixing him. Our lovely Little H is not normally so difficult - he’s normally king of the cuddles but obviously not when dealing with sheep first aid.

This week is turning into one hell of a week, as I explained to the children at our club today, when you deal with animals, no day is ever boring.

Can the animals now all behave to try and rest our bank account and my nerves please!
