Well done matey

This is the moment.

For over four decades, I’ve lived through insane levels of back-breaking success and crushing failures.

But I always believed in one thing — Indian Cuisine.

I started by working with chefs at the very bottom, and was constantly told, “This is not a real cuisine.”

Very few continued the hustle. Even fewer believed in changing global perceptions.

Then the tide began to shift — Chef Vineet and Chef Atul won Michelin stars in London.
Suddenly, we had a refreshing reference of what was possible.

Still, I held onto my faith. Even when others said, “A Michelin for Indian food in the U.S.? Never going to happen.”

And then, the brilliant Chef Hemant and Chef Suvir won the honor for Devi.
I felt the tide turning again.

On October 5th, 2011, I won the honor — and held it for eight consecutive years.

So much happened during that time —
Hosting MasterChef India, telling the story of possibility to millions each day.

Yet, something remained elusive…
Three stars.
The highest honor.

Then I saw Chef Himanshu —
I felt the magic.
The calmness.
The devotion.
The vision.

And just a few hours ago — it happened.

Himanshu became the first Indian chef to be awarded 3 Michelin Stars.

The decisions.
The wars.
The choices.
The victory.

I cried like a child watching the ceremony.

You can only celebrate like this when you truly know how hard the journey is.

This is not just a moment — this is a movement.

He has started a new chapter for Indian cuisine.
