UNEARTHED FROM THE FIFE CREAMERY ARCHIVES!
Look what we uncovered at our Kirkcaldy HQ! We found this absolute gem in our archives: a pristine promotional glass set from the 1982 World Cup in Spain, brought to you by Rosetta Fruit Juices! Talk about an instant hit of pure football nostalgia.
For those of us of a certain vintage, looking at these glasses takes us straight back to a time of perms, short shorts, and the unforgettable tunes of the Tartan Army.
Since Fife Creamery officially opened its doors back in 1957, we’ve had a front-row seat to the beautiful game. Counting this summer's tournament, we've witnessed 18 World Cup tournaments go by.
We’ve lived through all the agonizing lows and the spine-tingling highs that come with backing Scotland on the world stage. And speaking of history, check out the back of the pack! Scotland opened their campaign in 1982 in the formidable Group 6, rubbing shoulders with football royalty that is Brazil (soon to be faced again on match day 3, 2026!) the Soviet Union, and debutants New Zealand.
On this exact afternoon 44 years ago, Jock Stein's men stepped out at La Rosaleda in Málaga and put on a masterclass against the Kiwis, walking away with a 5-2 victory thanks to magic from Kenny Dalglish, John Wark, John Robertson, and Steve Archibald!
Fast forward to the present, and that same classic Tartan Army spirit is alive and kicking and as fresh as, well...fresh fruit juice!
We are absolutely buzzing after Sunday’s result! The dream is well and truly alive, and we head into the next game with our heads held high, full of hope and belief.
Come on Scotland!
