We established the market garden in 2008 wi
th 4 acres of rented meadow, a caravan and a shed. Since then the smallholding has expanded to 6 acres, 3 polytunnels and a new eco-house. This means we use minimal inputs, compost any waste and encourage the birds, bees & beneficial insects to help with pest control. We feel an organic system is the most sustainable way to grow healthy tasty food – best for people and the environment. Local
Well-placed to serve the surrounding areas of Presteigne and Knighton, we grow a wide range of crops for individual customers, as well as local pubs and restaurants. Out of season we also source produce from other local growers so that people can enjoy first class organic food throughout the year without having to travel further afield. Market Gardens have a vital role to play in the future, as issues of food security and local food production become increasingly prominent.
