Bird Farm Alpacas

Bird Farm Alpacas Bird Farm Alpacas Hi, we’re Rodney and Emma. Welcome to our farm’s page. Our farm’s small but purposely so. The session 10am til 1 pm is £35 per person.

A Little Bit About Us...

We’d always dreamt of running our own small holding and so in 2010, with our 3 kids finally all grown up, we took the plunge and opted for living ‘The Good Life’. Leaving our previous professions, possessions, and house behind was a big decision but with Rodney’s farming background and my love of everything countryside it was a decision we both knew we’d not regret. It wa

s just a case of finding the right animals and farm for us…

About Bird Farm Alpacas...

After a chance introduction to a herd of alpacas, we immediately realised they were the animals for us; charming, inquisitive and with a gentle nature. After starting our smallholding business in Gloucestershire we took the move to Lampeter in November 2013. We’ve made a conscious decision to follow non-intensive, sustainable, and ethical methods that are low impact and in-keeping with the beautiful countryside surrounding us. We host a 'monthly craft group meet up' on the 1st Wednesday of the month., 10am til 1pm. £12.50 per person. A chance to make new friends, try a new craft and meet the alpacas and donkeys. A relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, held on a peaceful, off-grid smallholding in Ceredigion. On the last Monday of every month we have 'Basket cases'. This group is for anyone interested in willow weaving. This includes materials, tea/coffee and homemade cake. We will be making bird feeders, dragon flies, tension trays and more! Larger projects like baskets can be made by attending 2 sessions. This mindful activity is guaranteed to give some respite to any worries and a great way to meet new people. Drop us a message if you’d like to know more 😊

Caroline and I enjoyed our craft session at Maes Y Felin Care home last week. We made wild flower frames and enjoyed the lovely scent of mint and lemon balm wafting around us as we made our pictures 💚💛

Caroline Whybrow and I really enjoyed sharing some willow weaving techniques with the residents of Maes Y Felin Care home. We made mini hurdles for the garden. Hands remembered weaving and using tools which created a lovely atmosphere 🤎
