I was up every half hour overnight, vet was notified, it looked like it was go time! Alas… no foal.
This morning she is full of milk and I am VERY tired 😴
It’s got to be soon… surely?! 🩷🩵

The maternity ward is ready…. 🩷🩵🤞🏼
Whilst this foal isn’t our first homebred (see almost 2yo Gruffalo by my previous mare), nor is it Florence’s 1st - it is our first home birth. I am incredibly anxious and nervous! Coming across Florence was very serendipitous, finding and purchasing the farm was also fortuitous… the year since she was bred has had some incredible highs and some shattering lows 💔. There is a lot of love, hope, dreams and ambitions wrapped up inside mama Florrie right now - I just hope everything goes ok for both of them, she is an incredible mare 🤎. Ideally she will foal outside, however having concreted the floor for this very reason we have a plan B space if needed.
